It's PROVEN that Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan HAVE AN ALMOST PERFECT RECORD in Greater China Region since 2006 (only 2 losses). This bodes well for the Guangzhou Games in 2010.

2006 -- Hong Kong Open FINAL, beat Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah in 3 tough sets.
2006 -- China Open FINAL, beat Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun in straight-sets.
2006 -- Invitational World Cup FINAL, beat Lin Woon Fui/Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari, but, lost to Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun in the inconsequential Group Game.
2007 -- China Masters Super Series FINAL, lost to Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun in straight-sets, despite having the lead in both sets. The match was marred by biased line-calls against the INA pair.
2007 -- Chinese Taipei Open GP GOLD FINAL,beat Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen in straight-sets.
2007 -- China Open Super Series FINAL, beat Guo Zhendong/Xie Zhongbo in straight-sets.
2007 -- Hong Kong Open Super Series FINAL, beat Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya in rubber-sets, having beaten Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun easily in the SF.
2008 -- Beijing Olympics FINAL, beat Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun in rubber-sets.

Actually, I was more nervous in the closing-stage of the XD SF between Nova/Butet and He/Yu. The second and third sets of today's MD FINAL simply underline Kido/Hendra's superiority over the Chinese pair (margin of scores were huge, even bigger than the match against Koo/Tan or Paaske/Rasmussen). Once the Chinese fell into the INA pair's gameplan, they simply lost their plot.

Congratulations to Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan, what a great present to celebrate the independence day! Btw, Kido looks sooo funny at the ceremony, when everyone else raised their hands, he didn't, but he raised his hand when everyone else's hands was down..i really laughed at that part:D:D:D

Today INA-CHN : 3-0, dunno what, somehow I like CHN players, they'r nice n friendly, like BCL, ZN, FHF, etc, but... LYB makes them being hated (or everyone wants them to lose).

(just came back from Brandon's swimming class)

congrats to Markis/Hendra for adding to INA's list of MD gold medalists. they are now in the same rank as Ricky/Rexy, Tony/Candra. and now we have Markis/Hendra. very cool.

sorry for Fu/Cai who didn't manage to repeat their performance in the 1st game. despite that, this is still a great achievement as i dont' even remember when it was the last time China has a MD pair in the podium.

(oh, it was 1992 with LYB/TBY earning a bronze.)
