btw, any bfers get the chance to challenge andrew dabeka to a game of singles at ofsaa?? i did... and i got SMOKED.... obviously... lol.... i did manage to get serve back twice though... lol.... but i guess it helps that he wasn't trying and most of his shots went back to the challengers anyway.... a tutoring game of badminton if you will... lol.... but good times!
I had to play the 3rd seed the 1st round, which was Tyler Brent, and I lost... and lets just leave it at that. The 2nd round I forgot who I played but I won it, and then I lost my 3rd match. Overall, it was good playing for me, but it wasn't as fun as I expected it to be because I always go to Ajax to play at the tourneys, so nothing new for me, but it was fun, still have memories. How did you do?
Did you guys get to play full singles games against Andrew? I was thinking of challenging but our team had a reservation at a restaurant. How did all the other challengers do? Phil
we only got to play games to 5 points.... but the rallies lasted about as long as the challenger could manage... because andrew always hit a shot that would be away from you, but close enough to you so that you could hit it... unless that rally was really dragging on... that's when he'd smash to ur body... lol good times
the 2nd person who played him got 3.... but mainly because he didn't expect a drive serve (which was what the person did right away).... i forgot how the other 2 points were achieved... when i left, no one had beaten him...
Ah Nanashi, you lost against NCSSAA second round of A flight huh? We lost against that team in our qualifying tournaments.. It was expected since my partner didn't want to play mixed.. also the guy took every one of the girl's shots so it was like a one man team! I've never played against Andrew... last summer I used to see him practically everyday at the RA Centre training.. I just saw him recently biking home I guess from the RA.
yeah... that was not a good game for me nor my partner... we both played pretty terribly... which resulted in us losing our tempers (me especially... i think i was about to get defaulted, because the ref was right beside my court giving me "the look") the guy on that team was quite good though....
Ah, it was unfortunate you weren't able to win the third game because at our cities, he was quite winded in the third and you could really hear him breathing like a horse because he had done too much running. I guess it was a key factor in the reason why my friend won 1st over him. I guess however, you should thank him for beating ya since you won first in B and they got eliminated in A Double Elimination. Off topic but, who is graduating next year? God I hope a lot of people migrate to universities! lol
on the topic of andrew debeka ..no, no one really got close at all but i got a serve!!!...i beat him on a drop shot that trickled over the net ..so lucky..anyways it was all down hill from there
wtf... how do u qualify so early we have not even started training at my school yet....we play tvraa then wossaa then ofsaa.....
My school is pathetic when it comes to the badminton team so no OFSAA for us... I'm hoping university next year will be better since my school's badminton team (or lack thereof) is utter crap. Since I'm only average myself I want a bit of coaching but some fun too.. university should be the remedy for that .
qualifying? for tdssaa region, how do you qualify for ofsaa? on my schedule I see a TDSSAA south region qualifiers, then tdssaa district ofsaa qualifiers, and then a tdssaa league championships. I always thought that if you won most of your games in your league during the season you were in? So which events do I actually have to go to? Could anyone clarify this for me
I believe you must be top 2 in the TDSSAA Championships. To get there you gotta make it to district from your regionals.
