Won my first qualifier yesterday (doubles), second qualifier is coming Wednesday. Top two from there (COSSA) go to OFSAA.

OFSAA is being held in Ajax this year. http://www.ajaxhs.com/ofsaabadminton/

Sorry, I don't know. It'd be good if they do an online draw with the www.tournamentsoftware.com site like OBA has with other tournaments.

Hahaha... coba country. Well, for OFSAA districts I'm in COSSA, and wayne and co. are in LOSSA.

Besides... didn't they have draws posted online last year?

On another note, funny story from my first qualifier a couple days ago. After the first game against some team we won 11-0, when their coach was done "coaching," (its like boonies out here so theres really not much competition) as he walked by us he says "just play don't show off." I was like    all at the same time! So I walk a bit towards him and I'm like "what? thats how we play." So we weren't really exerting ourselves in the first set but the second one we were PO'd so we just tried harder and I tried to make them look bad and it was fun. :)

The funny thing was, we weren't doing anything in particular in the first set, yet the one player and their coach decided we were showing off or something. Wouldn't it be even more rude for us to play stupid shots and keep the rallies going, making them run around?

Oh, another thing was the one team we were going to play in the final went to 3 games in their semi against the 2nd team from my school because we were cheering our team on so it helped them. Yeah so anyways they complain about the cheering and say its against the rules and whatnot, making us play the final on a non-centre court. I tried to get my coach to appeal but he said it didn't make a difference so he refused to, and we ended up winning anyways.

One more thing (damn it sucks playing in the boonies), the referee for the qualifiers around here things he's the big boss (well, he is... but anyways) and uses every oppurtunity to show everyone who's in charge. He'll walk right on someone's court to tell them their serve is illegal. Never mind explaining WHY it's illegal, it doesn't matter because he said so. He walked on to my friends court to tell him to stop cheering to himself so it didn't distract other players. Never mind that no one else complained or said anything about it. Last year I was in Singles final and I let the bird drop out by an inch and the line judge calls it out too and El Supremo walks over and is like "I'm afraid I'm going to have to overrule that and declare that it was in." I thought refs only are needed when there's a dispute? Worst part? He's a teacher from our rival school, so they get the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah, gotta love the small-towns... :(

better than my region.... the coaches in my region have NO idea what they're talking about.... (the north anyway...)

fortunately, we had the services of roger wallis for our metro qualifier...

i was actually told to stop cheering for one of the teams from my skewl.. haha... didn't matter, they still won....
