had he said he would win both SO and MO, there will be lots of finger pointings of him being cocky... what is the difference btw losing to a player of lower and higher ranked? there's no penalty right? if the logic of the lost is him conserving energy, might as well give a WO.. that will be much better thn getting only 5 points.. my 2 cts..

Too obvious that the Chinese players are always doing that in IBF tournaments

few years back china team had this really sucky practise whereby if 2 chinese player meet in any international competition.. the decider will only be the 1st set. whoever lost the 1st set, will have to give up the match..taht is why if u check back the score between chinese players , the 1st set is always very close and 2nd set is just for show

chinese team must be practising alot of unfair rules that causes so many chinese players leaving china and play for other countries

And Giving WalkOvers isnt fair for the other players aswell, because it means taht Lin Dan basically gets a free day to rest and recover.

Has anyone had proof that Chinese teams are usually giving walkovers on purpose?? In All England championship, ppl were debating on whether Lin lost on purpose.. Isn't it just cruel?? I mean, it seems that they really underestimated Chen Hong or something. Chen Hong is still a really good player, as far as I'm concerned.. Well, just a thought.

the reason is simple..they dont want their players to fight it out and used up all their energy among themselves..so their coach(or management) limit the fight to only 1 set... like taht chinese players can perform better on international compettion.. now it looks like its gettings worst, they dont even get on the court, just simply give WO.....dont evenneed to sweat it out..wat a way to cheat points

Maybe he lost on purpose to CW to protest Chen Hong's W/O and Bao's easy match with Chen Jin so that Lee CW can conserve his energy to play Bao tomorrow. :D :D :D

im not sure if there are any proof, but its just their way of doing things
perhaps to get the best result for their country. tahts explains why so many chinese players left the country..just look at those WS originated fr china playin for other

Very true, with players from the Chinese squad confirming that practice themselves. But an excerpt from another thread some time ago quoted Li Yong Bo as saying that they don't do that anymore. And in any case, it is possible for Chen Hong to give Lin Dan a walkover for reasons other than that of a tactical nature. It's just that we, the public don't know which it is but it's wrong to condemn and hold them guilty until proven innocent.
