    Hello,

Does anyone knows is there any malaysian badminton club in London, United Kingdom?

I recently just come to London. Wishing to play. If you know any club that has a lot of Malaysian or you are Malaysian and willing to play together, please leave me a message.

    Thanks,

there's a malaysian chinese society club that plays near euston on sunday, from 11 - 2pm i believe. it's mainly a recreational club though. i play in 2 other clubs with a number of other malaysian/singaporean/hong kong folk in willesden (sunday) and whitechapel (saturday) where the standard is more competitive.

looking for an advanced standard club

    hi david and dreamz
apart from bacons and warwick park,r there any decent clubs around with at least some orientals? i currently play at swiss cottage club. the players are of an advanced standard but sometimes not enough turn up, sometimes we struggle just to get 4 ppl together!

i'd just like to meet some new ppl and play in another club, any suggestions anyone? my standard of play is division 1.

    thanks

well, like i said, i play at whitechapel and willesden, but we're definitely not division 1 standard. i can give you the contacts of the organisers of the 2 clubs if you're interested.

Yeah I was really surprised just how good some of the players were!

I must admit that I'm really not a very good singles player as I only ever play doubles and can't adapt to a singles game very well, but I really struggled. I was in the section for players who weren't league players, but some of them were a lot better than any of the league players that I play with at my local club.

I nearly didn't win any games at all!
But lots of the people there were really nice and I had a great day.
I'm sure no matter how well you do you'll have a great day! :)

Let me know how you get on mate.

    Birmingham tournament

Well to start off I was nervses when I was just warming up on the court and guest were sitting and watching, the lightilng was bright with lots of players warming up on all 27 courts.

My first match was at ten clock in the singles league group 2 I felt nervse that could not move well but the other player felt the same as he showed stress after the first points that he lost, all the shuttlecockes we used was poor in standard.I played 4 matches which I did not win any as the level of skill was high but I should win one at lest. I had a great time at the NIA as player of all ages having free coach from Lee Jae Bok on two courts and you are right player were friendly when the matchs were finished most players who wait for their match went on court to hit some shuttles

I found it a very difficult place to play, the floor is really hard, the lights are very bright, and because the floor is so shiny you get reflections from that too. And the Yehlex shuttles are really bad!

Sorry you didn't manage to win any games, I did warn you that the standard was pretty good. But it's really good experience and it sounds like you had lots of fun. And if you got some coaching from Lee Jae Bok then that is pretty cool. Are you going to enter again next year?

    Tournaments

You are right the floor was hard so it made me difficult to move around the court and did not get any coaching from Lee as I know he well, I believe he wanted me to play my matches as you watch me now and then. I may enter the tournament next year as the first time was to experience it.I will be entre two tournaments in essex in sept one is in Newham leisure and the essex championship.

Where do you play in essex as I play in Leyton and walthamstow with friends playing singles using feathers
