You can be sure they tested out the combinations before. There is always the possibility of a player getting injured so being able to mix is good. It is also a strategy to confuse the opposition.

Remember the 2002 TC? - Malaysia were surprised when Indonesia fielded Trikus and Halim as a scratch pair.

Further back in 2000 TC, Rexy played with Tony G and destroyed everybody.

    Very interesting lineup..

..wow, this is going to surprise the JPN TC squad, esp. the MDs. All the planning, now it's probably out the door. Should be interesting to follow.

... and so far, the 1st scratch pair has won 21-13, 21-11 in the 1st MD... Choong Tan Fook and Koo Kien Keat, kinda funny... too bad i cant watch live, depend on livescore only...

scratched pair is better than usual pair.
The opponents do not how the 'new' pair play the game, the strategy and also their partnership.
That's y we get 2 surprises from Msia team. One from LPX-WPT and another from KKK-CTF.
Maybe the next 'new' pair will be TBH-LWW.
    I like both of them~

It's expected as Rexy mentioned before he might feature stratch pairs against China & Indonesia if they meet. They did it for Uber qualifiers & Finals, TC sure got one. They did it earlier, against Japan.
Too bad Zakry/TBH didnt play - would have been interesting to see Courageous Shortie & Tallie play, he he.

And yes, Cheung, has already been tested during training.

But would understand why they didnt field stratch pairs in group match, too early, opponents will catch wind of it.

Oh yeah, now opponents will be wondering who Msia will field : CTF/KKK, LWW/KKK, LWW/TBH, KKK/Zakry, TBH/Zakry, LWW or CTF/Zakry, etc. All of which never play in tournaments before.

I didnt expect though that KKK will be partnered with CTF. Was expecting LWW/KKK or TBH combo since uncle Ah Fook has "nervous at crucial pt" syndrome

Koo/Choong will be more than a match for the relatively off-form Fu/Cai.

It will be an interesting SF tie now.

BTw, CCTV 5 showed which court just now? Clear reception?

Did they show China vs Thailand? I mean, how you know FU/Cai still off form? From our Huang ?

I think Mr WCH will only be fielded as last resort. His partnership with Mr CTF was not as impressive as Mr KKK
