I'm sure Ng Wei isn't shallow enough to hold a grudge against LYB just cos his gf did not get selected, even if he did it would be futile. :)

Unless ZL plans not to play again for CHN, NW better fall in line and continue to march to LYB's tune. Game, set and match (quickly) to LD.

ok anyways, i picked that lin dan would beat park, assuming they both make it.

for Lin Dan, this Olympics is special for him, not only beacuse it's in Beijing, China, but its a chance for him to redeem himself from losing in the previous Olympics, and prove to the world that he IS the # 1 in the world, not just by points. He will definitely try very hard.

But as we all know, upsets CAN HAPPEN...so i'm not counting out Park completely yet. But I think it is his first Olympics, so nerves might be kicking in for him.

    just my thoughts.

LD's situation now is almost the same as that in 2005 when he had to meet Taufik in the World Championship final.

Pressure on LD includes, among others:

    1. Must-win-GOLD pressure
    2. Playing in front of home crowd: Note: usually Chinese shuttlers do not perform as well as they lay overseas. LD was eliminated in the first round in the last year Chinese open (if I'm not mistaken)...
    3. In fact, PSW is LD's most threatening opponent.
    4. PSH always looks comfortable when playing against LD as LD's style of play is so familiar to PSH
    5. As LD has never won any gold in any Games championship (Asian Games, Olympic).
    6. Most other opponents are no longer afraid of LD.

yeah... LIN DAN lost in that world champs 2005 but won on the next wc...
same... LIN DAN lost in athens and HE will win in BEIJING

and here's a reply for your reason:
    1. pressure to win gold is not on LIN DAN only... look at LEE CHONG WEI (malaysia never won olympic gold,,, and he's the best hope for MAS,, or look at your TAUFIK HIDAYAT,,, coz indonesia is just hope gold from badminton...etc..etc...)
    2. Did you never mention that CHINA ever sweep 5 titles in their country??so it should not a problem for them,,,everywhere is ok to play for profesional athlete.
3.LIN DAN most threatening oponent was DEFENITELY HIS SELF...
4.LIN DAN style of play are so familliar to PSH ???? than u must admit that PSH style of play is so familliar to for LIN DAN.
5.LIN DAN won AG GOLD MEDAL in team event by beating TAUFIK 2 TIMES..
6.LIN DAN is no affraid against other opponent,,, that's why HE has a good record against them...

Most of the time Chinese shuttlers did not perform when they played in front of their home crowd...This is the main and major reason why PSH will win over LD....

Haha, you sounds like LYB instant of his fan. i admitted that China will at least take 3 titles out of 5. But i have to say that China's MS and MD are definately in a very dangerous situation. Anyway you can at least take 60% of the gold, so nice? Mr LYB....

Rob the title? Sure, XXF, XXZ, CH, CY, ZL, JYJ, WYH, WL, etc all got robbed numerous of times to even participate the OG.

If not, LCW might got his title, but the OG women badminton events (and a good portion of MS) might very much look like CHN national or all-city games...

come on ....lets not start with quota again..we all know that china has more participants than anybody in badminton...look at tennis,..should we say that Rusia has more than 7 or 8 players in top 20 but only 3 got selected and China as the host as 4 ( Rusia did not complain it)....China did not complain about the quota, why we should bring this up again....so you think China only has more players that deserve in OG?...INA has many XD and MD ( MAS has more MD pairs) more than China that should participate in OG but INA does not complain....you make it like China is the only victim......
Pls remember the purpose of olympics....!!!
