Yes, that's what I thought. But didn't he use an AT800 or 900 before going to LN? I remember reading somewhere that he prefers the feel of the AT racquets. So I wouldn't be surprised if he requests his old racquets back rather than the ZF2. Afterall, what good is LD to Yonex if he cannot perform to his best with a racquet that he feels most comfortable with? I think the ZF2 doesn't need any more marketing, it's already been endorsed by most yonex sponsored players. I can't see adding LD to that list will bump up sales significantly. If I were Yonex I would make a new racquet for LD based on his requirements - which probably would be based on the AT900.
^ No, really, people will actually *send* in money (well, in this day and age, email in money) to buy sight unseen and play untested the racket model that LD uses.
I have a hunch that someone on here, *cough* Fer....o *cough* is already standing outside the yonex offices with his cheque in both hands. Which is why he hasn't posted on this LD thread for quite a few hours! Must be a record! I really shouldn't. *Slaps wrist!*
I personally don't think we will be seeing a whole Lin Dan limited set from Yonex. From what I have read, their are way to many rules and regulations that are standing in his way. We might see a racket but I doubt we will see shoes, shirts, shorts etc that LCW got from his set.
Yes, I agree with RVStrike13, only rackets and shoes is Yonex , maybe bag also , the rest will be still Li ning .
http://sports.qq.com/a/20150107/056844.htm The above link is the entire negotiation process from start to finish. Here's a few key points. 1. Li Ning signed a personal sponsorship contract with Chen Long. He did negotiate with LD, but to no avail. 2. adidas did negotiate with LD, not for badminton but for running shoes. Again, no success. 3. Yonex's offer was twice the amount offered by adidas!!!! 4. At this year's All England, Yonex will introduce a LD series of apparel.
it was adidas who first persuaded CBA to let Lin Dan use racket/shoes of another brand. But just before Lin Dan was about to sign adidas, Yonex learned of this and made an offer which was double the amount offered by adidas!!! http://sports.qq.com/a/20150108/048683.htm
I was at a Junior National Championship in India sponsored by Yonex. Yonex people confirmed it to me that unless Chinese Government steps in , LD will be sponsored by Yonex and this will be out in coming 2-3 months.
Lin Dan never used AT800/900. He was using the AT700 2nd gen back in early 2009 before switching to Li-Ning. In th 2009 AE, he was using the an all Yonex kit except for his shoes, which was Li-Ning. I guess it was a transition period from one brand to another.
