I get where you're coming from. He seems to be one of the few players who can actually catch KM in a rally, and his attack bites as well. But KM probably knew that Daren was playing with an injury and was playing a few gears lower.
The best thing about Darren in this tournament is his steep smash. Damn awesome man. Getting better after he left BAM with less burden on his shoulder. Unlucky with injury if not he might give KM a good match.
Any idea what injury Darren had? Darren and Antonsen were the only players who unsettled Momota and pushed him out of a stable position several times. Else, Momota was ballet dancing on the court against rest of the players, including the final against SYQ.
Haha, I actually misunderstood him too. Thought it was Daren he was talking about Seems to be his right ankle. I hope it's not an achilles tendon injury. He was unable to push off with his right foot and I think that hampered a lot of explosive power. The pain started to kick in towards the end of the first match. IKR, where was this Daren all this while? Perhaps that shows the strength of the old guard. When one of them can just come back unseeded and give the uprising stars such a test.
Yeah, too bad he picked up that right ankle sprain when his right shoe slipped badly on a lunge at 13 all in G2 against Tsuneyama. If not, he would've had a good fiery fight vs Momota. Well, hopefully his leg is ok and he will compete in Vietnam 100 (grand prix) this week. Then we will know if his performance is those 1 in 6 years

Congrats to Daren for being chosen to participate in Asian Games. I simply can't understand the rationale of BAM.
