Gosh that looks so good. I would have bought this one if it was offered in the UK. Still love the purple n7ii though.
Shaft Stiff > Flexible N 9ii > 9ii TD > 9ii TF and Material N9 ii use highest carbon fiber TD,TF is takedown.
I have now spent round about 4 hours on court with my N7II in doubles and singles, so I feel like I got a reasonable amount of impressions from it. Basically, I can pretty much confirm what other reviewers said before - it's the slightly stiffer and less head heavy brother of the N9II. The difference in both stiffness and head weight are marginal, so it will be a true matter of personal taste if anyone prefers the one or the other. The N7II is a tad faster (no surprise looking at the less head weight) so it does have a slight advantage in fast flat game and defense. On the other hand, the N9II provides a bit more punch for me (hello more head weight) and plays maybe a bit more forgiving (hello more flexible shaft). But dead honestly spoken, I'm not sure if I could clearly tell them apart blindfolded if I didn't have the other at hand as a direct reference. Since I am using the N9II as my go-to racket for singles for several months now (and came to like it a lot!), the N7II is in a difficult situation. I'm sure that if I had played the N7II first, I would have fallen in love with it either way cause it's a great racket hands down. And if I hadn't the JS10 still in the bag for doubles, I think I also would love to have a slightly stiffer N9II sibling available. But under the given circumstances, I don't think that I will keep the N7II in the long term. The good thing is though, that a club mate fell for the N7II head over heels after a couple of hits with it and is in fact begging me to sell mine to him. Especially after he searched the European shops for it and for the life of him couldn't find that black/green version...
Honestly I quite liked the new colorful N7ii and would have bought one if I didn't dislike N9ii. The color somehow works..
Especially by old farts who wear black, royal blue & white stuff all-over, with grips thicker than any Volvic bottle on a black racket. Do you guys really care how you look for other male players?
I don't care how I look for other players (male or female), but I enjoy using rackets and gear that I like looking at myself. And personally, I simply do prefer black/green to pink/purple/orange. Nothing but a matter of personal taste. But would that keep me from buying and playing the pink/purple N7II in general if it was the one for me? Absolutely not. But I do have my doubts if I would seriously give it a chance if I simply saw it and didn't know anything about the racket at all.
You'd be be disappointed if you tried that where I play All our N7ii/N7iiL players have the purple/pink version and its loved by everyone (male users included) Even my n9ii black pink with pink strings and pink grip was surely the show stunner, everyone wanted it The first thing my partner said when she saw me when I re-strung it wasn't "hi" but 'What happened to the pink strings???!!"
What pink string are you using? RKEP make an absolutely fabulous pink grip. Makes me feel like a Barbie.
ding dong ding to @swsh - No. 1 I really need to try out RKEP one day, but I've still got to clear through this box of AC102 I do look forward to giving 66UM a go next. Reckon it'll be alright on the ARC11? Or would it better suit the Inferno?
oh no I tried it as a hybrid with 80 but it wasn't my cup of tea and I still have a couple of packs of 66F sitting around too
Oh, well 66UM feels dead after a few hours of play. 66F feels dead off the machine. No.1 is.. No.1.. baby.. yeah
Whichever you use more. Get it strung slightly higher than what you use 80 at. There's so much repulsion, the extra few lbs really help with control and peak power in general. Charlie is correct in saying that it will die after a few hours (more like 8 hours in my experience or two days worth of sessions) but after the initial practise and you getting used to the drop in tension, it'll be just fine. String performs flawlessly just without much feel from it. It's funny because in a way it's the Inferno of strings..
