Lots of stuff: - To show his sons a good work ethic is a valuable trait. - He needs a proper purpose and project, otherwise he feels he will rot. - Maybe he plays with uncles and aunties but there is only so much of that you can tolerate. - If he couldn't be a world nor Olympic champion, then he can have a hand in making one. - He's got a lot of hard gained experience. He would like to pass it on. - He never had a gap year abroad. Would be nice to live in a different place for a while.
He always "misses badminton", the feelings of hearing audiance's loud, players's scream,... and feelings of being on court. Anyway, I used to wish that Taufik coached Nishimoto. It's would be wonderful if Japan could brought Lee Chong Wei to coach their's MS.
A different place - Not Singapore, not Hong Kong, not Taiwan. These places are no different than KL. A European country? But he would struggle with the language.
I tend to agree that since he couldn't be a World nor Olympic champion, he may gain a great deal of satisfaction in grooming one instead. But it seems he will not be coaching Singapore as some reports had rumoured.
Close enough to KL for family. Thailand is another option. Europe? France have the players. England to work under Morten Frost and Rajiv Ouseph? But few singles players.
Indeed quite unexpected for LKY to achieve such a high accolade so soon! But an Olympic gold will make it all the more wholesome. And another SG World champ wouldn't hurt. Dream, dream, dream ...
LCW categorically states he isn’t going anywhere. https://www.nst.com.my/sports/badmi...vCPVKicB_U3ZEBLsjLJ7NG3k-UzJpXR2vLn9dQ8rlPUg8
With recent taufik revelations, i hope msian pros are not into match fixing again. Am now beginning to doubt if lcw 12 MO wins were genuine. Was lindan bought when at matchpoint in Kuching?? Does liyongbo owns a durian farm here? Any connections?
Main reason, stiffer competition. Think of it like this, for the 2021 World Champs, Axelson was the heavy favourite. Yet he ended up losing to Loh Kean Yew. As the viewers, badminton is unpredictable. While some matches are easier to predict than others, no one but the players can affect the outcome. No matter how good Lee Chong Wei is, if he's feeling a bit under the weather, and his opponent happens to be in incredible form, it's not impossible that LCW will lose. There are many factors that contribute to how they perform, whether it be pressure or something else. Perhaps the pressure of expectations to win the highest level of tournaments got to him and he ended up playing not as well as he could have. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
Yes, and VA was LKY's 1st round opponent. Before the tournament starts, we were saying, LKY will be wasting his trip to Spain.
VA vs lky lost is NOT a good example. Its purely VA who purposely lost that match. Period. VA knows himself better. He is not keen on the previous wc. Acting. The world have never seen a worse wc on record before lky. Totally out of whack. It really bring shame to the WORLD CHAMPION title. Maybe lky shd give it back. ,)
