it is responsibilities for a coach to guide their players, if not why M'sia hire Rexy for???

By the way, Rexy really is a good coach, he can bring up the performance of the players, here to salute him........

yeah it's true tat it's da responsibility of the coach to guide them, but wat if rexy left MAS team and went to korea?? aks KKK/TBh to migrate to Korea as well? :D:D:D:D do u tink it would b the same if the job is to b taken by any other MD's coach?? rexy is an exeptional good double coach and KKK/TBH should learn as much from him asap and not too dependable on him in winning all the big matches. without rexy, they even struggle to win against some weaker pair in KO.....which is not their usual act when mr.rexy mainaky is around to kick their arse.:D:D:D:D

KKK/TBH will not be going to German Open. They will be staying in Malaysia in preparation for All England. Both of them just arrive yesterday from Korea.

Badminton: Rexy: Give mixed doubles a chance

    31 Jan 2007
    K.M. Boopathy

MALAYSIA must focus on qualifying for the mixed doubles, if the the bronze medal feats in the World Championships and the Doha Asian Games are anything to go by, for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

This is the firm belief of national men’s doubles coach Rexy Mainaky who said creating a mixed doubles squad will help the doubles players take the event seriously, and give them an added opportunity to compete in the Olympics.

The national doubles players, despite regularly playing in the mixed doubles events on the grand prix circuit, have always taken the the event lightly and tend to use it as a warm-up to the main events.

Despite that, Koo Kien Keat-Wong Pei Tty secured Malaysia first ever bronze in the World Championships in Madrid last September, while Fairuzizuan Tazari-Pei Tty surprised with a bronze in the Asian Games.

The fact that Malaysia expected to have the allowed two pairs in the men’s and women’s doubles in the Olympics, has prompted Rexy to urge some of his charges to focus on the mixed doubles in order to realise their dreams of playing in the Olympics.

For the Olympics, a country is allowed a maximum of three entries if they have three or more pairs in the top four of the world ranking, and two entries if they have two or more in the top 16.

Malaysia currently have six pairs — Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong, Tan Bin Shen-Ong Soon Hock, Choong Tan Fook-Lee Wan Wah, Chan Chong Ming-Hoon Thien How, Lin Woon Fui-Fairuzizuan and Gan Teik Chai-Zakry Latif — in the men’s squad.

"I believe that we should have full time mixed doubles players. The plan as not been finalised yet but when it is, we can have more players battling for medals in the Beijing Olympics," said Rexy.

"It is a tough scenario that we may end up having just two pairs in the men’s doubles but the ones who miss out can still qualify for the mixed doubles.

"We have won medals in the World Championships and Asian Games and that proves our players can play well if attention is given to the mixed doubles.

"Gan, Zakry and even Fairuz are proven mixed doubles players and they could get the opportunity to realise their Olympics dream through the event."

Teik Chai’s regular partner is Fong Chew Yen while the versatile Zakry has partnered several players, including top women’s doubles players Pei Tty and Eei Hui.

In fact, Fairuzizuan had partnered Pei Tty for the first time in Doha but has also had decent runs with Ooi Sock Ai in other tournaments.

Rexy said that Kien Keat will not be burdened anymore by playing in the mixed doubles with Pei Tty as the former and Boon Heong are Malaysia’s best hope for gold in the Olympics.

The coach has also identified some of the players from the 2010-2012 Project but they will only be included in selected training sessions.

Among the players under consideration are Tan Wee Kiong, Woon Khe Wei, Ng Hui Lin and Haw Chiou Hwee but their availability will only be decided after discussions with 2010-2012 doubles coach Rosman Razak.

Having a mixed doubles squad could also augur well for Teik Chai and Zakry who are struggling to make an impact as a doubles combination.

A serious approach from the coaches and players could give Malaysia an outside chance of landing another Olympic medal through the mixed doubles next year.

Does this mean KKK won't play XD ??????

    ah... i understand now haha...
gao ling n kkk??? nah gao ling is mine haha.....

according to rexy he is not goin to pressure kkk in XD anymore... he said that gan, zakry and even fairuz are potentials to fill in the XD and he is also bringing some of the juniors to train wit the seniors.. Mas has 6 pairs in MD and if only 2 or 3 make it to olympics, maybe they are qualified for XD and at least Mas has more medal prospects instead only MS, MD tats all.. haha :D

just hope that the day where the coach and the player's conflict like LM & LCW doesnt happen in near future between KKK/TBH and rexy, not before olympic 2008. It would be a nightmare then.
