No they won't The chance they'd win a medal if they were taking part would not be favourable, considering their long-term absence of form. Blaming them would be like blaming a dead chicken for not having eggs.
making excuses after the fact perhaps? seriously, if they can and still have the final chance to participate in the olympics (as the defending champions no less!), which only comes once every 4 years, which family member would be stupid enough to discourage them NOT to go?
