I was waiting waiting and waiting for the BAC only to see Momota not in it. Really sad. And now he is struggling to beat a no name. Damn.
I wouldn't say beating LKY this year is that big of an achievement though. If it were last year then you can maybe make the case. It's almost the same as beating Momota this past year. Nobody is going to claim that it's a big achievement.
ah Momotaさん is in the MS draw of the Perodua Malaysia Masters 2023 ^^ https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...d=348FA0E2-708B-457A-A231-FC7B8062D198&draw=2
Sad to hear but there was something missing after his terrible near death accident in 2019, wish him luck in the future.
Unfortunately I can't understand the video. Sad if true but I'm inclined to take this with a pinch of salt until I hear from other sources as well.
wants = fake news. the news is: Momota used to think about retirement. I only translate the title, I am not responsible for the content.
That video is a mish mash of various news of different players. If it's real news of such significance as Momota retiring or wanting to, it would be a single video fully dedicated to that single news. And not only that, it would have been all over the Japanese and Chinese badminton chat groups already if it were true. Sent from my SM-S918W using Tapatalk
Whats going on with momota anyway? Did they leave him out of the sudirman cup cos they are supposed to give the place to higher ranked players or cos they dun trust his performance?
Unless Momota wins a bunch of World Tour titles, it’s hard seeing him qualify for Paris at the moment. He isn’t qualified for the WC right now (could change still) and WTF seems like a long shot too.
Momota has unequivocally stated to the mass media that he is participating in the race for Paris 2024. In contrast, there have been no news reports in Japan that point to a retirement. Paris certainly looks to be an uphill struggle, but Naraoka may be fading out, and Nishimoto and Tsuneyama never fail to appear less than inspiring. It is difficult to feel confident, but Momota is giving the Olympics one last shot.
