I am wondering, how about tony/candra/sigit 10 years ago? Was their technique level the same as Kidho/Setiawan? My impression is that the former should be better.

So what happened to Indo MD? From tony/candra/sigit to Alven/luluk to K/S, seems the level of technique is going downhill...

to answer your 1st question, yes, they were that good even 10 yrs ago...that's why the domination by INA MD from mid 90s to 2000/2001..
but time changes and they all grow older..

I won't say level is going down, but it's just not the same, for whatever reason.....possibly the newer MD pairs lack quality sparring partners(ie. during Tony/Candra's time, they have Ricky, Rexy, Trikus, Halim, Flandy, Eng Hian to name a few to spar and train with, world elite players, unlike now)..could be also just simply, the lack of new talents..not only in MD but MS, WS, WD and XD..guess PBSI will just wait and see what their new players have to show..

I think in indonesia, the population of badminton players is so big that they should be able to maintain their standards. There a many poor and hungry players there who would like to have a chance to get out of the ghetto. Same like China.

I don't quite understand :) Anyway, to me, Ricky/Rexy/Candra/tony/Sigit (even Halim, Trikush) are real pleasure to watch, Alven/Luluk (esp. Alven) are sometimes pleasure to watch, but K/S's game seems a bit too simple...

Are all these people coached by C. Hadinato?

It looks like ZJW and YW are just playing around, not being serious in the 1st set, i mean you can tell by the body language, just cruizin thru....probably going to give the match to their counterpart...hmm, ZYW could be a double winner in this tourney.. :)

Even the Chinese commentators mention that the senior pair made too much mistakes....they don't look to be in the mood of winning today.

    oh my,
ZYW is a double winner in this tourney...winning with her partner in straight sets over ZJW and YW..
ZJW and YW are purely playing around, the match was almost unwatchable...CTF must be waiting somewhere in the crowd for ZJW to finish her match..hehe;):)

Man, what a nice first set to watch, many ups and downs. TH was making a lot of mistakes and BCL was playing it safe, essentially just waiting for TH to make mistakes. But towards the end Bao looked completely helpless against the Indonesian's net-play.
