Yes, Mew Choo should be mentioned as I don't recall any WS player able to beat two Chinese players consecutively in major event. Glad to know WS has new challenger now.

    Most impressive so far:-

MS - winner (Dicky Palyama - against Gade)
    - loser (Roslin - almost beat LD, had he taken 1st game)

WS - winner (WMC - beat 2 new guard CHN players)
    - loser (Saina - kept Wang Chen on court longer than expected)

MD - winner (Logotz/Mateusiak - beat last week's German Open Champs)
    - loser (none)

WD - winner (Scottish pair - beat 2nd cute Jap pair in 1st round)
    - loser (3rd Jap pair - almost wiped the smile off Gao Ling -inexperience cost them dearly)

XD - winner (Jung/Hwang - beat the best Danish combination)
    - loser (Joanne Quay/Daniel Shirley - forced extended deuce on both sets against World Champs)

What we have forgotten is Chen Yu, quietly he has advanced to QF without dropping a game, just like Chong Wei and only one of them will be a happy man after today.
Wonder when will Chong Wei use his call line to consult Li Mao :D

I agree that Mew Choo heve been really impressive but....dunno about today.
I hope she can put up a good fight against Zhang Ning...the effort counts more than the result..
It does not matter if she has tried her best...yet loses in the end.

    Somehow......
I think Shoji Sato has been quite impressive in a quiet way...
I thought he would never pass his first round!!!
In a way, he attracted my attention....
So...I hope he will do his best against Bao Chun Lai..

If we start having non-CHN challengers beating CHN new blood in CHN-dominated WS domain, it will probably force LYB to ask Zhang Ning and Xie Xingfang to play as long as possible. How long can they last, ZN is > 30 and XX = 27.

But hey, it's good for the sport, with WMC, Yippie, Saina, Schenk, Hirose, not to mention those ex-CHN players providing decent opposition.

LCW is said to be ready --- after losing coach Li Mao, he is now more relaxed.....looking at his last two matches, he seemed to be at ease with himself.

The man seems to have picked up his mojo again, playing fast and powerful. If looks is anything to go by, LCW is ready to swamp his opponents. Don't believe me, check it out in about 2 hrs time.

    result speaks louder than vow

I only believe the results, nothing personal after so many failure from Hafiz vow after vow ... Chen Yu has been playing very well, I rather Chong Wei to meet Bao at this stage.
