It's not my fault either LYD and others aren't born in 1985.

GVS/TWK were quite promising. Too bad they couldn't resolve their issues.

It does feel like right now MD is weak. Possibly Gid/Suk are an exception, but the fact that they've won a record amount of Superseries this year is most probably due to the lack of competition. There were many more top-performing pairs when LYD was still competing.

It's funny how of all the pairs, Chai Biao/ Hong Wei managed to beat the minions in the World Championships :D.

Guess it was a matter of time before Chai/Hong would take one of those '' 20-20 in the decider'' against Kevin/Gideon looking at the history between the two pairs.

Only Boe/Mog and Liu/Zhang are able to defend properly and play rally well.
I don't need to see people hit the net all the time to see that MD is weak.

Exactly. MD scene now was like MS scene at some point this August/Sept when we felt that no one could compete with Axelsen until he was beaten by Srikanth in Denmark. Kev/Gid lack competition and it isn't reasonable to expect veteran pair of Boe/Mog to have the energy and stamina to challenge them each time like consecutive weeks. None of their peers have risen to the challenge which is why it is rather boring.

When Koo/Tan first emerged in late 2006 and early 2007, their points were 3 to 4 rallies and mostly the shots were to the body.

Hah. That was when they are wayy to young to have good rallies. Circa 2008-2010 is good showing even though they lost everything.

Yeah I agree MD is quite weak right now, but MD is currently in transitional era, the old dogs are gone and new faces emerge.

However, one particular old dogs who was never the top pair in the previous era, is still going and become the top 2 pair. That shows how weak MD is these days.

Having said that, Kev/Giv are the MD pair no one has ever seen before in the history of the game and it's absolutely extraordinary.

Now the best MD in my opinion are bo/mo. Considering the fact that they are 71 years old together, other MDs should feel ashamed

Funny that people said Boe/Mo was never good in the past eras.

They won like 13SS while those top 4 are playing and number 1 in the world too. Shows how much is biased this room is. Even that is ranked 2nd all time SS, imo BoeMo is the topdog and to beat them , feels good.

Actually, no-one in this thread said that BoMo was never good in the past eras. Check again.
When you said BoeMo was one of the strong players in the past and won 13 SS, it shows how strong the competition back then with other players winning more SS then BoMo. Anyway, where do you get the fact that 13 was the 2nd all time SS? Hendra Setiawan won 18, Fu Haifeng won 14. Both also won world championships.

Now, BoMo is in a bit of decline, and should also be the other players from their generation if they still play.
However, there is no other players besides Kevin/Marcus who can compete at the top and challenge these old dogs.
That shows that it is less competitive at the moment.

It is like you want them to take credit for slaying the top dog of the last era.
Fact is that Boe/Mog is not the pair to beat last time.
