    Marcus's smile with that hairstyle is a bit too bright for today's tie :D:D:D
    Good luck to minions and INA team tomorrow.

    https://m.badmintonindonesia.org/app/information/newsDetail.aspx?/8999

    Kevin : The match wasn't easy. Especially playing Chirag who is used to playing MD and he is indeed a strong player. We were more prepared on court today.

    Marcus : Personally I didn't expect (how well India team played today), I was hoping we could have won it sooner. But Indian Team is strong, we as the players have to be ready in any situation.

    (About tomorrow's chance against Chia/Soh) :

    Kevin : On court, all teams have equal chances. The chance will be 50-50 for the match tomorrow, what's important for us is that we can give our best for the team.

    Marcus : They are strong players, they haven't lost yet in this tournament. We have to be cautious playing them as we have to play faster pace here.

    (BATC 2020) Tundukkan India 3-2, Indonesia ke Final

    (Manila, 15/2/2020)

    Anthony Sinisuka Ginting vs Sai Praneeth 21-6 - retired

    Congrats to INA team to win the BATC for the third time..
    Minions did their share of contributing a score to the team at all time, yay.. close call in SF when IND forced MD1 to the last.
    How to calculate their points here, anyone know?

    https://m.badmintonindonesia.org/app/information/newsDetail.aspx?/9003

    Kevin : They were more prepared than us in the first game. Seemed like they really had prepared their strategy right. They were so difficult to put down, when I myself was still trying to find my own game and returning some shuttles loosely at times. When we were able to win the first game, I could play much comfortably in the second game

    Marcus : When we were down 18-20 in the first game, we just tried to do our best first. Their defense was so solid and their blocking was good too. We found our game in the second game and we got the "feeling" right.

    Kevin : We still need one more point, anything can happen. I hope the other mates can win.

    (BATC 2020) Indonesia Ungguli Malaysia 2-0

    (Manila, 16/2/2020)

    Tim putra Indonesia sementara unggul 2-0 atas Malaysia pada babak final Badminton Asia Team Championships 2020. Setelah kemenangan Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, angka kedua disumbang ganda putra Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon.

Namun Kevin/Marcus berhasil merebut empat poin berturut-turut hingga akhirnya memenangkan game pertama.

    Kemenangan game pertama membuat Kevin/Marcus semakin percaya diri, mereka terus unggul jauh dalam perolehan angka. Sebaliknya, Chia/Soh banyak melakukan kesalahan sendiri.

    With minions participation and winning their matches in BATC, if my calculation is right, they gained 11,053 points from defeating the highest ranked opponents in the final Chia/Soh.

    Edit : Since there is only one team event tournament can be included into the ranking, means minions only gained 50 points than their last week's total ranking points.

    Just for fun before we move on to AE's draw that just came out today.

    While looking at the Race to Tokyo ranking and calculating minions points. It just came across my mind, "what ifs" minions won all the four tournaments left till the qualification period ends and trying to calculate what is the highest points minions could get for their Race to Tokyo ranking points.

    There are four more tournaments before the qualification ended. And let's pretend that no virus outbreak ever happened so BAC is still going according to plan. Their three lowest tournament points in their Race to Tokyo are from WTF (: 8,400), Malaysia Masters :) 5,040) and Indonesia Masters :) 9,200).

    So
    All England Open Super 1000 : 12,000 = 108,653
    Malaysia Open Super 750 : 11,000 = 111,253
    Singapore Open Super 500 : 9,200 = 111,253
    Badminton Asia Championships (Individual) : 9200 = 111,253

    If they won both AE and Malaysia Open :
    - 111,253 It will be their maximum points as the third lowest points is 9200 which would not change their total rankings even if they win SO or BAC. Which is 9,560 points more than what they have at this point 101,693.

    - 1 Team event, 3 Super 1000s, 5 Super 750s, 1 Super 500. Two Grand Slams in 52 weeks :D

    AND, had they won WC and WTF, their total points would have been 117,053!! :D:p

    Anyway this is just numbers. Only for statistic and for fun's sake. The only thing matters is that they win a medal in Tokyo (even better, the Gold) Pray pray pray pray that the luck will be on their side:)

    I wonder how much it costs to enter a tournament. The higher the level the more expensive? WC and WTF are by invitations only I supposed.

    AE's draw.

    Minions will face (if they win their matches)
    Ranki/Shetty in R1;
    Ou/Zhang or Ko/Shin in R2;
    Chia/Soh or Ast/Ras in QF;
    Li/Liu or Kim/Lee(?) or Lee/Wang or Ong/Teo in SF;

    Trickier opponents are on the bottom half, fortunately or unfortunately depends on how we see it.

    The fact that the car is still good means Marcus has still chance to win Olympic gold. If it crushed, I think he is too overweight to win the gold

    Italy's IC final was cancelled, GO is cancelled, I wonder what till be the fate of AE and Swiss Open afterwards.

    I hope minions and all other players are all heatlhy and not infected. Heard that it is still zero confirmed case in Indonesia?
    This cancellations of tournaments will hurt some players qualification to Olympics (if there is OG this year.. looks like the its fate will be decided in 3 months).

    Ahead of All England, Kevin/Marcus still has some homework to do

    Ahead of All England, Herry IP said there's still some homework to do for Kevin/Marcus, especially on the defensive aspect.

    "For Kevin/Marcus there's more homework for Marcus, because he's been targeted a lot by the opponent" said Herry IP

    "But I told Kevin too, how he need to play his shot better so it's difficult for the opponent to target marcus. his lift and return need to be precise"

    "Yes Kevin's defense is a lot harder to penetrate, there's a lot of solution, Marcus defense need to be improved, or Kevin's shot placement need to be better, so many alternative for that".
