Once again, congratulations to minions for their first title, third consecutive title in IM as a pair.
With this victory, they have reached over 100K in their race to Tokyo qualification points. I don't think they could be surpassed with this total points, can they?

All the best to both pairs in Olympics! :)

    https://m.badmintonindonesia.org/app/information/newsDetail.aspx?/8928

Kevin : We started to put pressure on the opponents since the word go, they started to make a comeback in the second game. They have vast experiences, it would be fatal if we lost our focus for just a moment.

Marcus : They changed their tactic in the second game, they were more defensive. We lost many points there.

Hendra : They played well. We were leading in the first game, but they anticipated it back and they could win it. We tried to change our game plan but maybe we were still a bit rushed at some points.

Ahsan : We had actually changed our strategy too, we didn't just did nothing and lost. We also learnt from the opponents who had defeated Kevin/Marcus. But it is so different when we are on court, we will try it again next time.

(Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2020) Taklukkan Hendra/Ahsan, Kevin/Marcus Rebut Gelar Juara

    (Jakarta, 19/1/2020)

Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon meraih gelar juara di ajang Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2020 usai mengalahkan senior mereka, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan, lewat permainan straight game, 21-15, 21-16.

Also remembered in team AG, they almost lost to ShettyRR in Istora, they looked off color during that period but still end up with AG.. Had they lost there will be no 32-0 record.. This record will probably lasts our lifetime.

It proves that blessings are already prepared. Almost got knocked out in R1 here, end up being champion. Escaped from the frying pan.

Kevin uncle playing with kids. Haha nice to see this side of Kevin. Marcus Jr. was sleeping , good to see daddies and Marcus with their kids in the podium. It was like family feeling. Kevin must be feeling ohh I'm alone again. And what's the name of the song which was getting played in background during MD post match presentation ceremony.

    No stopping Gideon and Sukamuljo.
    • With Huang Dong Ping apparently suffering from an upset stomach, she and Wang Yi Lyu couldn’t put up much of a fight against compatriots Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong, who needed just 25 minutes to put them away, 21-9 21-9.
    • Gideon and Sukamuljo haven’t lost to Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan in their last nine matches. Their tenth on the trot came in 32 minutes, 21-15 21-16.

Minions will be playing in BATC along with Ahsan/Hendra and Fajar/Rian too. Ginting, Christie, Shesar and Kholik for the single.
Pretty strong squad and I supposed this would be what Indonesia's Thomas Cup squad this year?

I wonder if the coach will again shuffle the MD combinations like he did two years ago?

With the recent virus outbreak, INA team has cancelled the participation of their players in China Masters. There could be a possibility that INA players would withdraw from BAC in Wuhan too, just to be safe.
Minions don't need to worry about points for Tokyo qualification, so it shouldn't be a problem to skip one or two tournaments. Can't be too careful. Hope everyone is alright.
