Afterall the referee performance is preposterous.. They dont even get drinks thats why they are visibly tired.. What i know is they are not they kind of player to delay games..
Yeah, money talks in the end. If badminton is as rich as tennis, we can have Hawk-Eye for every court from the opening round, including qualifications.
Yes that is true but that doesnt mean badminton is less demanding sports. I would say its more demanding. Not allowing shuttle to drop the floor thats super demanding.
Another thing is that Men's Tennis and Women's tennis are owned by two different companies and operate distinguishly. Hence, Both the companies need two different days to operate on the Same venue. So, the companies don't have the same burden of schedule as BWF who has to manage MS, WS, XD, WD, MD .
No choice, LCW, you've to go all out in G2, do or die, forget about G3, don't think of conserving energy for it.
Not to worry, as US and European economies falter in the not distant future, tennis won't have that much money unless the sport is picked up in a big way in Asia, not likely I think. Hope to see badminton overtake and replace pro tennis one day, not wishful thinking, in my opinion.
You seem to ignore that the physical challenge is a huge part of the sport. The players know it. You have to push your limits if you want to win Fitness and stamina are as important as technique. Recovery in tennis is very different, players often play outside under the heat or the cold and on differently challenging surfaces for hours long. They also play more matches and more rounds.
One thing that I hope from badminton is that for it to not go down the same road as those megasports, losing the most important spirit in the game itself
That's the rules ! You don't get to delay the game because you're tired while your opponent is standing on the court ready to serve waiting for you. This is a professional sport, not sunday play with your friends. 80% of your messages on this forum sound ridiculous honestly oO Always so polemical
Tomorrow we should be able to see LCW demonstrating how to overcome VA's physical advantage (not just in age), and Shi Yuqi would do well to be there watching the maestro struts his stuff, I hope.
Some people might say "LCW is done." but at least he is playing well right now. Losing in the final won't hurt too much.
Young gunslinger vs old gun, if I were a betting man my money should be on VA. But I will be cheering for LCW no matter what. He is the underdog, no stress.
