Well, here are the answers. Take your pick. 1 word - Olympics 2 words - Chen jin 3 words - bwf's f**k up 4 words - Li yong bo's genius
yet isn't it the best senario for CHN just qualify with 2 players (LD and CL)? so that they would be drawn on opposite half and LCW must get pass both of them (in SF and then in Final) if he want to win the Gold? otherwise LCW may face CJ (if CJ squeeze in as #4) in SF whilst LD vs CL in another SF (if both advances)! CJ is no match with LCW, this is not the best senario from CHN's pt of view... don't understand LYB's genius from this perspective....
LYB make use of bwf's loophole to maximizes his players qualifications and earn valuable experience for the UC team. As for the singles draw, as its stand LCW will play either LD or CL in SF. if CJ qualify he will be in the other half of LCW
The India SS is right in the middle of the 1st closed training camp planned this year for team CHN, this one is for the TC and the other one for the Olympics. Unless Chen Jin is by then certain for qualification even if PG turns up at India and win it, Chen Jin will need to play at India. The German draws just came out suggested it’s likely that CJ will bag that 7000 points. So, Chen Jin needs to win the AE with PG not better than a SF place, and win the BAC title in China then he can certain of qualification and skip the India SS. I guess Chen Jin and his team mates will be at the India SS.
With Peter Gade stubbornly push himself to stay in the top four by playing too many tournaments, he might possibly collapse on the first day of his Olympic match. Rather than preventing three CHN players to fill the spot, he should concentrate on his training programme and play selectively to avoid burning in later stage. What good will that do to him by making sure two CHN players qualify, he has other opponents to worry about too. In fact, he is the one who should give up staying in the fourth spot and let Chen Jin or big possibility Sho Sasaki (he is closing the gap as well). It's a laborious work and might severely impact his form. Even if he is seeded fifth, he wont face Lee Chong Wei or Lin Dan in the quarters, he only needs luck to be on his side by avoiding Chen Long in the quarters. Now that's a strategic move. Conserve your energy/stamina and stay focus on the main goal (An Olympic Medal). Not fighting neck-to-neck just to prevent one extra Chinese dude from playing....It's childish i think...
It’s a very good reason for PG keep trying for the 4th seed position. With the new group stage for the 2012 Olympics, most of the groups will have 3-4 players, but for the top 4 seeds you will be in the group of ONE, i.e. straight in the last 16 and play 2 less matches. This is as good as any incentive for the 35 years old. If PG is out of the top 4 then he will be facing one of the top 4 at the QF and say goodbye for the last chance of an Olympics bronze. On the other hand if he is to be seeded 4 he might have a good chance to get that bronze. I don’t think neither LD nor LCW will be too interested if they are to face PG for the 3rd place. CJ will definitely have a go for it as the bronze may be the best he can hope for. CL? May be but I got a feeling that he won’t be in the bronze medal match. So, that illusive 4th spot is all or nothing for PG.
Any possibility LD to try to overtake LCW as no.1 ? . For your research, have a read of this long thread located at; http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...Chong-Wei-remain-World-No.1-until-the-2012-OG .
