Taufik is an incredible player in front of home crowd, and when he is "in the mood". I think Taufik will win again, but Bao is also looking very strong.

Taufik always controls the game by his superior technique, precise placement, and clever variation of pace; while Lin Dan frustrates his opponents by his speed and power, always making his opponents run like hell and finally out of position. Let us wait and see who will dominate the game finally... Have been waiting for this game for so long... Pity will not be able to watch it...

I hope Bao wins this tourney and shows his true potential and that his world junior gold victory was not a memory of long-gone shadows... He really is a more complete player than Lin and has a larger arsenal at his disposal. If he can overcome the mental aspect of his game, I think he can surpass Lin. But nevertheless, go Bao and Lin for a finals matchup!!!!!
Hmm, can someone provide a "proof" that Lin Dan beat Taufik before(in Asian Championship)??Is this the regular ABC tournament held every 2 years??If so, what year and where was it played??..I did a search and checked the last 2 editions of the ABC tournament and saw the finals were only between Taufik and Sony Kuncoro(both play in the Finals:2002 Sony won, 2004 Taufik won)...Can someone confirm this... I think Taufik will have the advantage in SF against Lin Dan cos of 4 reasons: 1. He's playing at home and in front of his Indonesian supporters.. 2. If indeed he lost vs. Lin Dan in a previous meeting, most likely that was when his old coach, Mulyo left the Pelatnas and went to Singapore..He's back now.. 3. Taufik is healthy now, unlike when he lost to BCL in the recent China Open with the very bad foot injury.. 4. MONEY...Yup, don't you guys think he is not tempted at the money he will be receiving, just like during the recent Olympics??.. I have a strong feeling Taufik will go to the MS Finals and if he does play BCL again, I believe he will make a redemption for the lost he took vs. BCL in the recent China Open..Anyhoo, it should be one interesting and fun match between Taufik and Lin Dan...

hmmm, ok, thx Kwun(i was looking in the same website but didn't know where to look for head to head matchups)...yah, that was the year Taufik didn't win the Indonesian Open, for some reason. He won the previous 2 Indonesian Open(1999,2000). If he would have won in 2001, he will be looking for his 6th consecutive Indonesian Open title this year...I believe that was the year his coach, Mulyo, left the Pelatnas and went to S'pore and proved to be the start of Taufik's 2-3 downturn yrs, until this past summer..
taufik is a heavy smoker, he may not have the stamina to play lin dan. i wish taufik will win but anything can happen to the top 10 players :crying:
yes. i think so. it was a turmoil couple of years for Taufik. after all these years arguing with PBSI, the guy is only 23yrs old. still have quite a few years of badminton to go for him.
