AY looking out of sorts.
Body language not looking good until now, 9-9.
As Steen said, 4 or 5 mistakes to the forehand corner from CYF, and a couple others in G2
More experience as Chen Yufei matures is what's needed to rise further to the top 3
Zheng Siwei/Chen Qingchen into the semifinals
Well saved rally,CYF
It's well in
Fine net play , CYF
CYF going for the line and making an error
2-3 years from now, if not injured, Chen Yufei should be way ahead of everybody else, as she matures and gains more strength and experience. A phase which LXR enjoyed for quite some time.
Overdone it, I think it's wide
I agree. But I don't think we will see his legs grow much bigger due to genetics. But there is still room for stronger legs and better stamina indeed.
I also disagree with Steen's comment. But I disagree with your reasoning. The venue has been renovated since last year. Much more drift. While home ground is definitely a significant advantage in many regards, I don't think it extends to handling drift in this particular case. I would be surprised if Viktor had practised in this hall prior to the event.
I feel Chen Yufei can work on her stamina a bit more
CYF pounces on the net but didn't send it far back enough and AY gets to smash it
Akane is only one year older than Chen Yifei but is already more experienced
A well-fought match so far
Akane looks fitter than CYF to me.
Akane's trademark soft overhead drop shot, often catches most of her opponents off-guard
CYF has to watch out for those front court shots from Akane
Yup, GC is right, CYF's inexperience showing
Good challenge by CYF
