With CL's injury, CL vs Tommy would be interesting - 2 players who just recover fr injury

Chen Long's injury comes at a bad time, hope he recovers fully in time for the TC. And FHF/CY's reunion for the TC doesn't look too good at the moment as they lost to LXL/QZH in the CBSL. Other members of the CHN squad will have to step up their game and make full use of their chances to play at the big occasions.

If CL cannot participate in the TC, it might get very tight for CHN team. Against INA, for example, we could get Tommy against Du and Simon against WangZM. In such a configuration China is still favorite but not by much!

If he signs with Yonex or Adidas, for thomas cup he will use unmarked racket and shoes and still wear Lining outfit as it is the main sponsor of CHNA team. Lin Dan is a team player and likes to play as a team and will wear team's outfit.

CL is injured? It is a strategy. I am sure it is only "Smoke and Mirrors"

I'm sure they will work out something. LD is an important piece to defend their TC title.

There is no choice in team uniform. That must be addressed in any contract. There can be flexibility in racket and shoes. Given LN's financial difficulty, as long as the new sponsor picks up its share of team sponsorship money as compensation to LN for letting LD off the team contract, everyone should be satisfied.

Signing LD is worth more then signing the whole rest of CHN team I would guess.

Cai Yun has not been included in the Thomas Cup team. Instead, it's Zhang Nan who'll be coming to India along with Chen Long, Du Pengyu, Tian Houwei, Dan Lin, Fu Haifeng, Hong Wei, Chai Biao, Liu Xiaolong, Qiu Zihan.

I think ZN is a better choice than Cai Yun. But what is your source, how do you know CY has not been chosen?

In that case, I actually predict LYB will use CB/HW as the MD1 and ZN/FHF as MD1.

Zhang Nan can pair with both Fu or Cai. Is a great player to explore. Looking fwd for his performance. Because Qiu/Liu is not that secure for China MD.

I don't think Zhang Nan has replaced Cai Yun, it's the other way round. What you see on the BWF page is dated or last updated on 27th Mar'14. This Chinese article dated 3rd May stated Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng partnership, and there is no Zhang Nan http://sports.qq.com/a/20140503/015990.htm. Another article dated 2nd May also mentioned that Cai Yun will reunite with Fu Haifeng for the Thomas Cup and that Zhang Nan who recently partnered FHF in tournaments is not destined to play at the Thomas Cup.

the only way to beat china is to steal from 2 MD and 1 MS (which is ms2 DU PENG YU) =x Indonesia should seed simon santoso to stand higher chance to defeat china and korea should field lee hyunil as 2nd ms and just sacrifice the 3rd =p

too bad to korea team . no chance at all for them. T_T only Indonesia stands a chance. If only peter gade wasn't retired jorgenson as ms2 should have a chance =/ so conclusion other than Indonesia no other team stands a chance >

Certainly true that ZN is a very versatile player. There are some reports saying that CY has ankle issues or something along those lines, which contributed to him being dropped. ZN can play with FHF and CB for sure. I would be interested in seeing a ZN/HW team also.Hopefully he can capitalize on this opportunity.
