Oops! I thought Kevin Cordon is from Europe. I reread Alan analysis above. It look like european players can get more points in european championship as compared with asian players in asian championship. This is actually not fair. Chen Jin has to continue working hard in both Australia open and asian badminton championship. In Australia open his main opponents are still Taufik Hidayat and Lee hyun Il. Hopefully he can come up as a winner again. Chen Jin, poor thing.

both the EC and BAC offer the same points as GPG , i.e. 7000 for winner etc

Alan I wonder if you can help me with this.

After the Swiss open, i understand Chen Jin is about 1000 point head.
The lowest point for chen Jin after Swiss open is 6050
The lowest point for Peter after Swiss open is 6050 too.

So, If Peter and CJ both win European and asian championship respectively why PG will be ahead by 35 points while both the EC and BAC offer the same points.

Just a guess (without doing any research) but could CJ be dropping more points than PG from last year's BAC/EC?

    Chen Jin's 10th is 6050, but P Gade's 10th is only 5040.
that's why P Gade's net gain will be more if they win the EC and BAC respectively

Good thought. Both Chen Jin and P G didn't use points from BAC/EC last year.

India Open will fall away for Gade (already accounted for by Alan), making the HK Open's 5040 pts. the highest remaining eligible score.
Malaysia GP Gold was the first tournament of the Olympic Qualifying Period (I remember that being the start well now with the Dutch MD reaching SF)

Hi Guys, according to Alan, the seeding of Indian based on the ranking on 22.3.2012. I wonder if the points which Peter Gade got last year at indian open are still counted on the date? In other word, will Chen Jin be seeded no 4 at indian open?

I think this week ranking, after Swiss open points included, CJ is still no 5. That is because PG Indian SS runner up last year points are quite substantial but this point is not in the Olympic calculation.

So if LCW, LD, CL is present, CJ would be seeded 5.

Maybe LYB will make CL absent in Indian SS in order for CJ to be seeded 4 ?

The closing date for the India SS entry is expired on 20/03/2012 and surprise surprise neither Lin Dan nor Chen Long are on the list.

    *

This is really interesting. If LCW going PG will be seed 2 and CJ seed 3. If not PG and CJ will be seeded 1 and 2 respectively. So, they will play against each other either in SF or Final if they are to justify their seeding.

    *

The bottom-line is even if PG won the EC and decided to go to India and CJ didn’t score a single point from the Aussie and BAC, all CJ needed is to beat PG at the India Open and his place for London will be secured.

of course, this also mean that LCW will be going into the Olympics as No 1 seed.

Alan, is LCW on the list? If Lin Dan is not coming, I think LCW probably has no point to come as well especially he is still recovering from his shoulder.

Without LCW, CJ can take care of himself;) May India's curry powder seasoning on everything and currycooking-everything menu are too over-powering for LD:D

I heard Indian open SS is right in the middle of intensive training of chinese team prior to Thomas cup. I think this is why LD and CL don't come and also LYB must think CJ has regained confidence to take care of himself.

CHN need LD & CL to be in top form in TC to win. They are going for 5 in a row remember....with an ageing MD top pair and inconsistent 2nd/3rd MS
