This month, the 7th moon of the 7th heaven, the stars will reign supreme for LCW and there will be no surprises.:D

I will not rule out the sucker punch theory. Yes, on paper LCW looks ready to hammer Ronald but on that day, dont rule out Ronald delivering LCW a sucker punch.

By the way, during the run up to last year's WC in KL, LCW was also at the peak of his badminton career. ;)

I don't see your point about being "amusing". :D

Frankly, I was very disappointed that Kendrick just missed making the grade to his first Olympics. I thought he could qualify ahead of Ronald since RS was injured and could not play in a number of SS whilst Kendrick showed great form up to the SEA Games last year. Ronald was not able to participate in the SEA Games and Kendrick shouldered on as first singles and made quite an impact, even defeating some higher ranked players along the way during the Individual competition.

But thereafter, Kendrick sort of crashed out in the early rounds of the subsequent SSs. Ronald, on the other hand, slowly brought himself up to par and made gradual improvement. I think he went as far as the QF for some SS and this improved his world ranking and put him ahead of Kendrick on Olympic qualifying date.

Actually I was hoping the Ronald could make to the top 16, which can then allow Singapore to field 2 players instead of one. Kendrick would then have his chance. But fate was unkind to Kendrick as only Ronald was accepted in the end.

So how can it be amusing when it was Ronald who was determined to succeed and finally made it ahead of Kendrick?

my point is, kendrick himself isnt a top notch player, comparing RS to him will seem insignificant?

Well you must have very high standards. Kendrick has beaten Chen Jin twice and you wouldn't think CJ is a "top-notch" player? :D

I'm sure LD was no inferior to LCW when he lost to RS in Athens. In fact LD was WR1, better than LCW today, yet he lost.

Many had said more or less the same as what you are saying now! And they had to eat their own words!

Yes, RS defeated LD in Athens but it was 4 years ago. Chen Hong was WR2 and Wong Choong Hann was WR3 in 2004. What is their world ranking now? Maybe RS WR was around 10 or something but now he is around 30. The WR tells us that WR32 (correct me if I am wrong of his WR) is tough to beat WR2. Besides, I can't even recall who has defeated LCW since Jakarta Thomas Cup Finals until now? It seems that LCW is almost unbeatable since Thomas Cup. Even if someone is capable of beating LCW but I don't think it is from RS.
