Why is it always when Lin Dan loses people come up with strange excuses. Conspiracy against him, being sick, injured or tired or not wanting to win. Surely he would have won today if he did not lose. After carefully checking those "controversial" linecalls there was maximum one call wrong against him, and that was not the game point.

Just earlier this year he lost a final to world #50 just because he was more tired. Otherwise he would have won. Surely

Why don't people analyse the match instead of these conspiracy theories. In my opinion Lin Dan played well and so did Chou Tien Chen. Difference was stamina today. When world #3 beats a player ranked 14th that is no news usually.

No idea. It should be an upset if LD wins, at least for me. Haven't watched the match yet, but judging by the drifts line call must have been difficult.

This Indian pair just doesnt like to meet Minions.

They can do quite well against CHN pairs.

The Indians should try to slow down the pace. They are losing in most fast exchanges so far.

A lot of Steen talk about Minions not doing well in large arena.. yet they won AE 2x, Fuzhou (3x in a row) which i rate as their best achievement in the LionsDen and also at Mushashino last year.

So what I mean is just bother on winning. Whether its big or small arena, if its already won its already won, i guess.

Not a bad plan, but definitely not a good one.

Not conspiracy, just no Hawk-eye which could've changed the outcome, I thought it was gamepoint at deuce dispute that cost him the set (can't remember). And, without Hawk-eye, there's no knowing how many of the disputed calls are correct.

Anyway, in view of Lin Dan's age and waning physical condition, winning in two instead of having to play three sets matters more to him than all his younger opponents, that's my concern; otherwise, frankly, he is always at a disadvantage and I don't see how he can go far in any tournament. Realistically speaking, I don't harbour high hopes for him to even qualify for the Tokyo 2020 OG.

He/tan won the first game. I think li/liu would prefer han/zhou than he/tan.

HeTan needs/wants to qualify for OG, too. H2H wise actually they are best against all chn pairs so not getting a top 2 spot isnt ideal. I prefer HeTan than HanZ

In fact, i dont think they really care if they lost in SF/R1 to minions next week. They can have chance to beat HanZhou 3 weeks in a row.
