Well if I had that draw too I wouldn't be out to get results anyway. :p I mean it's too much for a Level 4 equivalent that doesn't even have the same coverage (and prestige) as a World Tour event. I mean there wasn't even Hawkeye on Court 1. Anyway, it clearly showed too with so many shots going long and wide that the sharpness wasn't there. Uber Cup is just around the corner so hope she's ready by then... especially if she meets GFJ again.

To be honest, considering the time already spent recovering, I doubt that she is going to be ready. I really hope that Yamaguchi manages to fully recover from that pulled muscle. If she doesn't, then Japan will be relying rather heavily on the WD category.

Which is puzzling because I thought Okuhara played rather well in the All England. She also beat GFJ in the German Open earlier... Maybe she just needs that feeling that the tournament is important or major.

I guess for the first two rounds at least, the organizer won't put Lin Dan's matches on TV court or even livestream, to attract ticket sales. The stadium looks well attended today.

So that was their plan huh..o_O What about us who can't be there in the stadium? I wish they would have this pay per view for badminton tournaments too.

    Lost G2 by 21-9.

So I guess this is him responding to organizer gesture toward him?

LD probably confirmed to lose G3, left behind 0-5.

Lin Dan giving up G2 and G3 ? With him in such questionable form, how are the CHN coaches going to feel safe fielding him as MS3 at the Thomas Cup ? No wonder they want him to play at the NZ Open next week to see if he's good to go.

Could be a cold or something -- she's lethargic and inconsistent, but doesn't seem to have problems with her movements....

Okuhara made quite a few of those "back-breaking" overhead shots while jumping backwards, which would be a dangerous thing to do if she still had injury fears/problems.
