At this point, we should just consider them unable to defend the title so we don't get too disappointed down the road. All eyes should turn to Rexy, what "stunt" he's going to pull this time? :D

The MD World Champs have a pretty good draw to make it all the way.

If they fail, next year, send in more Djarum talents ....... :D

Nah, I don't snicker. I do believe that Kido/Setiawan can actually make it. More so after seeing how Koo/Tan fell last night.

But if they don't, and PBSI talent program is not bearing fruit, why not Djarum take the lead?

Djarum and other INA clubs are much like our KLRC (except that they are all local INA players), and sometimes you can see better results than PBSI. Andre Tedjono, for example. If he is not in the INA Thomas Cup squad, I would be surprised.

Sometimes it takes a shove to serve as a wake up call to national associations, like how KLRC and Nusa Mahsuri is pushing BAM. At the very least, now BAM acknowledges that Nusa's panel of coaches and some KLRC players are capable.

Djarum can do the same for PBSI. Take the lead, if it has to.

Like LCW during MO 2008, 'Last yr was MD, this year is MS's turn, we work together' (that was actually refering to Li Mao's statement on Msia MS & MD jealous of each other's win)

Oh yeah-lah, me forgets you were there watching live, he he. You must have been nodding off, zzzzzzzzzz

Interesting also to see if the oldies (any country) can win it, for those retiring aft OG 2008. On the Msian side, this yr looks to be LCW's turn to show his mettle, MD see how far 'uncle' LWW/CTF can go.

Well, I certainly hope Kido/Hendra will take the title this year  Koo/Tan and Fu/Cai have won the All-England....so let the INA pair win this time round ok :D?

Djarum is proving to be a real force in badminton. If not for Djarum, Andre Kurniawan Tedjono, Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki and Fran Kurniawan/Rendra Wijaya WILL NEVER GET THE CHANCE to compete in international tourneys and more importantly, win titles in the past 2 years.

Look at PBSI's own crop: Hendra AG/Joko Riyadi NEVER WIN any GP titles so far and have won only the Jakarta Satellite  Now, even Fran/Rendra have won the Austrian International Championships 2008 and by doing so, they have repaid Djarum's faith in them. This is something that the other backup pairs (non-Djarum pair) in PBSI would obviously dream of....

    WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2006

BCL vs LHI played first, and BCL won this match.
LD vs CH played later, LD won.
is this the match - fixing? BCL booked final ticket first means the title absolutely belongs to CHN. what is the need for match-fixing?

LD vs BCL, LD won. again, is this the match-fixing?

    ALL ENGLAND 2007

    Chinese National Championships in SF.
if there was a match fixing in CHN MS team, this time LYB must "sacrifice" LD coz of 2 reasons.
first, BCL lost to LD in WC 06 (the 2nd prestigious tourney after OG)
second, LD won it for twice, while his team-mates never won it.

if LYB ask BCL and CY to give up when they meet LD, isn't it will cause disharmonize in CHN MS team?

    INDONESIA OPEN 2004

after failed in OG 04, there are 2 goals from CHN MS in INA 04.
    1. its LYB's task to secure his position after his total failure in OG 04
    2. its time to prove that CHN MS still the best in the world, by defeat reigning OG champion TH in his homeground.

SF : TH vs LD and BCL vs CH

absolutely if LYB wants to fix the match, he will pick BCL rether than CH coz CH never won against TH (until 2004), while BCL has better H2H records against Taufik (even BCL trounced Taufik in TC 04 in Jkt with straight sets). but, what's happened? who win the match between BCL vs CH?
    no need to answer:rolleyes:

seriously, every thread seems to gravitate towards the same subject.

But, LD definitely has an uphill battle against the Korean armada, but he also has gobs of experience and the highest potential to take those matches since his opponents only rarely give him scares or knock him out it seems.

I don't think anyone citing these matches as examples of "match-fixing". So what you have proven is "Not all China-China matches are fixed", which is obviously true.

That said, let's discuss a bit more about your examples.

WC2006 LD-CH. Anyone who watched the match can see how exhausted CH was in the 3rd game. You can see how CH wanted to fight but his legs just gave way. How CH knew in the 2nd half of the 3rd game that he had no more hope and cheered the audience.

AE2007. First I haven't seen anyone accusing the SFs as fixed. Your reasons do not sound right. LD is LYB's clear favorite in the whole China team, not only because LD is the best player there, but also because LYB sees his younger self in LD (according to LYB's own words). Also it's always a better strategy to build a myth than to give everyone a share. One superman is more useful than 100 spiderman (Just read a comic "Superman and Spiderman vs. Aliens vs. Predators", Spiderman is close to useless :D) Rudy Hartono is an example. Rumor has it that PBSI fixed some matches so that Rudy would appear invincible.

Indo2004. First can you provide info about which semi is played first? Second LYB has not "failed" in 04 OG. He got 3 Golds, including one "unexpected" XD gold (I vaguely remember the LYB predicted 2-3 golds in 04OG, correct me if this is not true). 04 OG is a failure for LD, not LYB. So I doubt he would care that much about 04 Indo Open (to the extent to fix matches), a tournament with no effect whatsoever on big tournaments like WC and OG.
