Taufik will again keep his promise AE draws near. Taufik has made his promise to win the title. He has set his mind and focus in winning the championship. He will repeat what he did in the past. He has been training and preparing this event very seriously. He has been focusing on his physical fitness. He is ready and very confident at the moment. He is on the right track and creating new "tricks" and "illusions" to deceive his opponents, only to be shown and demonstrated in the final.... This year AE must be very interesting, perhaps will be the most competitive... Li Yong Bo's statement in the paper a few days ago saying that Europe is the friendliest place for Chinese shuttlers will not become reality this time...especially for MS.
I think its better if both of them in the final.... I mean, all the Malaysian would not worry b'coz the champion surely from our country...
Hi all,, im newMember..nice 2 be ur friend here.. iM vote for taufik..and really want to see his backhand so badly
Taufik does have a beautiful backhand... If you visit the Badminton Central forum discussion on professional players, they have a thread dedicated to Taufik's backhand... and they have recordings of his backhand's highlights. Wonderful stuff! He can make Chen Hong and Peter Gade run all over the place in haste... and then finish the point with fantastic backhand shots... Not only smashes... but backhand drives and surprise backhand lobs too... Taufik's sense of timing and placement is just fantastic... Warning, daniel2323, there are A LOT of Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan die-hard-fans in Badminton Central. Heated debates and die-hard fanaticism in support of the respective star-of-choice are common... I like Taufik, myself... His style is so beautiful. Never boring. The best Indonesian player ever! I think 2007 will be his All England year...
My predictions: ms: Lin Dan, Chen Jin or Taufik md: Fu-Cai aren't really that good, so I'll put my money on Jung-Lee, Eriksen-Lundgaard and Kido-Setiawan,though I won't mind if CCM-HTH make a breakthrough, unlikely, but I'm still hoping........... ws: Definitely China, but hope Mew Choo can do well. wd: Don't need to discuss xd: Emms-Robertson, Laybourn-Juhl, KKK-WPT(hoping) btw, Lee Hyun-Il left the national badminton team??
i have two section for this. the player i think will win and the player i want to win. MS - Player i think will win = taufik hidayat - Player i want to win = malaysian (either LCW or Hafiz, maybe even surprise win Wong Choong Hann) MD - Player i think will win = very tight race because all are on the same same level and so this is the best group and most interesting match that i would like to watch, but i think Tony-candra might be the best bet - Player i want to win = Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong (is it any wonder?) WS - Player i think will win = one of the chinese players - Player i want to win = any underdog will do malaysian or otherwise WD - the only match i have no interest in because the domination is too obvious and thus what is the fun in that. so no prediction from me. no use i think. XD - Player i think will win = the chinese top pair - Player i want to win = the ones that struggles the most to get to the final. yeah, underdogs but i guess it is not obvious cause any one could win it. that's it. may the ones i predict or the ones i want to win get the prize. good luck to all players. rock on!!!
We are all entitled to our own opinion... I just hope one of the Indonesian TV stations or Star Sports or ESPN will cover this year's All England... Any encounter between Taufik vs. Lin Dan/Chen Jin/LCW are great to watch... Last year, they showed Lili Natsir-Nova vs. Emms-Robertson on TV. Too bad our XD pair got trounced... Low TV ratings after that... Thus... I am now afraid that nobody wants to cover All England... :crying:
I hope so.. But I dont Think So..:crying: :crying: Coz usually they cover only the final match:crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:
Give Hafiz a break It's good to know that you never lose faith in Hafiz. But don't deride LCW, ok? LCW is at least one class above Hafiz in play but he is just having some problem with form. Only LCW can sort out his own problems but I believe he is getting out of the woods now that the coach issue has been resolved. However ,like you, I have faith in Hafiz. He has been trying very hard to perform. The fact that he reached SF in KO 07 (after crashing out 1st round in MO07 ) is proof. That's real progress and should be noted. MAS has so much talent. What sink them is their management. Those guys just can't think CLEARLY.That's why they say MAS stands for : Mana Ada System; Mana Ada Strategi; Mana Ada Semangat. Take your pick.
Eventhough i am Hafiz supporter, i also hope LCW can do better this year...i admit that LCW currently one class above Hafiz and i really want Hafiz to improve himself at least to the same level with LCW Agreed, Hafiz has been trying very hard to perform and i have no doubt that he will reach his true capability soon...IMO, he is Yoyo King with a lot of potentials... If Hafiz can win at least 2 or 3 SS Tournaments this year, i will be very happy...but if any MAS player (including LCW) can win any SS Tournament this year, i will be more happy
Ya...me too...I shouldn't lose faith easily with our players...I believe that no matter LCW or hafiz, they have a lot of potential but maybe just because they can't let go certain pressure and due to this their performance are poor.Well, this is a new year for them and i really hope that they can forget all the bad things in the past and do well in the coming tournaments for themselves and also Malaysia.
Yeah, agree with you, we shouldn't lose faith easily to our players... I have confidence that 2007 will bring more luck to Hafiz,LCW and other MAS players especially KKK/TBH At the same time, i also would like to see badminton become one of the most popular sports in the world starting this year onward

I disagree with some of playafrommalaya's prediction......well from what i have been seeing lately....Chen Yu vs LCW is 50-50......and KJ vs CJ 30-70? should be 50-50 too.....and MD....there could be a meeting between CY/FHF and TBS/OSH......so it could go either way.....well....KKK/TBH has a bug chance to win the title this time no doubt bout tat
Mens's Singles: Lin Dan, Peter Gade, Bao Chunlai, chen Jin or Lee Chong Wei WD: CHN WS: CHN Others no idea.
