Slightly better mix of shots from CYF in G2, but she's once too often forced to turn her back to play the backhand, that has to be addressed.

She plays with slow measured steps. That probably is the reason why she got caught having to play the backhand so often. I personally think she should inject more pace and aggression into her game.

Apparently, Soo Teck Zhi is unfamiliar with Srikanth's game. Their first meeting?

Good point, more pace and aggression, and, I'd add, better anticipation, but that comes with experience, too much to ask of her at this stage for the 17 year old.

HBJ, how times did you lift or clear long in G1? 5,6,or 7 ? Lucky you to take G1, 23-21.

In G2, at 20-7, HBJ switches off before winning 21-13. Totally unexpected, frankly I was wondering if HBJ's fitness can hold in G2 , instead she drubs Sindhu. I'm forced to eat back my words, happily stuffed myself with it.:D

What to do? Lin Dan will retire next year....Need to find out next Lin Dan as quickly as possible.....I had marked a dozen players as next Lin Dan at the start of this year and half of them turned out to be utter flop :crying:

To be honest, I think Sindhu have been playing too many tournaments. often back-to-back. Furthermore, she is not used to HBJ's game, probably their first meeting, and became more reactive than proactive. One match alone doesn't prove anything.

Last week, HBJ's vulnerabilities was exploited by Mitani who got a lot back to frustrate and tire HBJ. Let's see how it goes the rest of the tournaments for both HBJ and CYF. I feel that being young, at 18 and 17 years old respectively, they can afford to take more risks, and learn more from their defeats than victories.

I commiserate with you,but seriously, I doubt we can find another Lin Dan for the next 10, 20, or even 30 years. As for the female version of Lin Dan, I once thought LXR might be the one but she disappointed me,really not sure if she can still do it as she is aged 24 now, not young nor old.

KS to play Anthony Ginting tomorrow.. Tough task considering his previous performances!!
If he can't pull of a victory in this tourney he must see off SN at the airport and shouldn't bother his rusted body on the way to dubai

Glancing at livescore, I thought Chai Biao/Hong Wei is finished in G3, how did they come from behind to win it ? Amazing.
