Host INA relies on their doubles department to keep winning chance alive, huge upset continued when hot favourite Chen Long was eliminated by Kashyap, other casualties were pretty predictable.

It's hard job to score best result, maintaining consistency in back to back top tier tournaments and Chen Long quarterfinal exit isn't too shocking as he also had bad outcome in Singapore SS last April after bagged MAS Premier title at previous week. Well, the in-form Kashyap Parupalli will up against Japan wonder kid Kento Momota who fought hard to overcome home qualifier Anthony Ginting at last eight. Two European finest MS players, Danish #1 Jan O Jorgensen will take on the fighter Germany Marc Zwiebler, the defending champion has slight advantage to book another final berth here.

Two Chinese ladies, Wang Yihan and Wang Shixian will meet tenacious Japanese Yui Hashimoto and Thailand former world champion Ratchanok Intanon. Interesting to follow those two ties, Wang YH is favoured to win based on her fierce performance to dispose Yamaguchi while Wang SX has equal chance with Intanon who has smooth ride en route to last four.

Korea has assured MD final berth through highly favourite Lee YD/Yoo YS v reigning World Champion Ko SH/Shin BC, 2014 Copenhagen WC Final repetition. An intriguing duel at lower half of draw, local hero Ahsan/Setiawan will be challenged by Fu HF/Zhang N whom got free semi ticket due to Boe/Mogensen conceded walkover.

Incheon Asian Games Gold medalist Maheswari/Polii is surrounded by three Chinese pairs, two of them will face each other, last week winner and runner-up of Aussie Open, Ma J/Tang YT v Tang JH/Tian Q. Fresh partnership Yu Y/Zhong QX has Indonesian rival, it's tricky test for INA pair to face CHN new scratch pair as they have similar powerful ability with the established combination.

The top four rank XD pairs are unstoppable, perfect scenario that we will looking forward two high level quality semifinal ties, home hopeful Ahmad/Natsir has arduous foe, the mighty Zhang N/Zhao. Last year final contest will be repeated tomorrow, Xu C/Ma J v Fischer/Pedersen.

LIVE TV (01.00pm local time) matches :
    1) Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei (CHN) v Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir (INA)
    2) Kashyap Parupalli (IND) v Kento Momota (JPN)
    3) Yu Yang/Zhong Qianxin (CHN) v Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii (INA)
    4) Ratchanok Intanon (THA) v WAng Shixian (CHN)
    5) Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan (INA) v Fu Haifeng/Zhang Nan (CHN)

man... ZN/ZYL vs. TA/LN again.... Can TA/LN prevail? This is a tough match-up. Hopefully they rise to the occasion and put a stamp on the BF/GF pair.

Nitya/Greysia I hope can keep up the good form, attacking mode. It is fortunate that they do not see MJ/TYT or TJH/TQ here. Yu Yang is the weak link in the pair.

Go RI please up the ante and win this time. The H2H is not very good for RI.

It is yet again very crappy by BWF to show only 5 of 10 matches on youtube. It is possible to show all of them beause SF is played on one court or at least 8 matches would be ok but no, BWF wants to promote the sport worldwide bla bla.... so they only show 5 matches...:(

It's indeed an improvement that now the organizer stage the semifinals on ONE court only, giving chance to the spectators who come to the stadium and buy the tickets to enjoy all the 10 matches in full, one after another. It also provides the same opportunity to those remote viewers at home (through live TV broadcast and live stream). It's just our hope that BWF will soon learn from ITTF how to do the LIVE COVERAGE for the entire matches for many viewers globally!

The XD is indeed the boring discipline since one or two years. Always the same on the semis and finals, always with the same results!

XD - is the only discipline with all 4 top seeds in the SF.
MD - will see the usual MA/HS vs LYD/YYS in tomorrow's final after today's matches.
WS - will be nice to see YH progress. A new face although I like WYH as well.
MS - JOJ is the defending champion and he is the favourite against MZ. KT and KP is too close to call after the latter took out the WC but playing against a southpaw in never easy.
WD - INA pair winning will provide more excitement in tomorrow's final.

All in all, an exciting 10-12 hours of badminton. Phew!!...are the crowd already lining up at the stadium?

Most interesting match today has to be RI vs WSX. RI yesterday played the highest level I've ever seen in WS discipline. Comparable to when LCW thrashed Gade in the same stadium here:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYRUXxZUVIc

If RI plays like she did yesterday, we could see something similar. But RI is quite inconsistent, so who knows which RI will come today.

I must say man, I watch these tournaments only because of Lin Dan, and half the fun is gone when he isn't playing. This is fan abuse by Lin Dan. He should just not play if he doesn't want to.

Also, now he has given up two tournaments, and there is no way in hell that he will be able to maintain number 2. And he will be drawn with Chen Long or someone for the World Championships.

He should just pay some attention.

Very pleased to watch the two Wang make their presence today. Believe they gonna make it into the finals.

For Wang Shixian, Saina Nehwal is her biggest hurdle in the draw and she managed to pass her though with much struggle, to develop a narrow lead in H2H eventually, 7-6. Btw the record indicates that WSX has been developing more positive responses to SN as of 2014.

For Wang Yihan, the biggest opponent is not in the draw but her own self with the early exit of CM and LXR. If she plays well as herself, not the erratic edition, she will pass every opponent in the draw and should not face much problem to earn a spot in the finals.

We shall see within next several hours.
