The Thomas Cup failure really delivered big impact for his career.

Yup, being bronze medalist in last year WC is Du PY best achievement.

Hopefully Simon Santoso will get WC ticket from the reserve list :)

I suppose you could be right but according to the BWF list, the BAI said 'yes' to Ajay Jayaram on July 11th.
I would say impossible. You have 20 people on the reserve list who have yet to be offered spots, then there are another 10 people between the last person on the reserve list and Lin Dan. Even if you discount the 15 players, out of those 30, who would exceed certain countries' 4-player quotas, you are still looking at 13 spots that other member associations would have to turn down AND China would have to turn down reserve spots offered to Chen Yuekun, Gao Huan, and Xue Song in the hopes that 20 more cancellations would then happen to allow Lin Dan to go. In fact, I'm not even sure that the BWF even has a process in place to account for the extremely remote chance that all 24 reserve players would refuse to go. If that could ever even happen, they might just go with a 63-player draw.

Maybe BWF make a mistake in Main and Qualifying Report.

    DOLAN Jonathan/MAGEE Sam(IRL)
    RIDDER Koen/BOSCH Ruud (NED)
Thery are already declined in July 23/24.
see (Players/pairs in the MEN'S DOUBLES reserve list updated 25 July )
But now they are all listed in Main and Qualifying report of World championships 2014.

Maybe he doesn't withdrawn from this event. After all there is no solid evidence about his retirement, just like LD's sponsorship. Probably this is his final WC event.

He's in the draw as 8th seed.

Wonder if he has had time to get a visa and arrive in Denmark...

That's good for Simon. I think PBSI will help him to ensure the administration for going to Denmark.

This year is his best chance to get a medal in WC, which is he never get before.
