What's with Intanon? The pressure of the burden of expectation is getting into her, esp after three successive defeats, once to WYH and twice to WSX. And in a must-win situation here to stay in the running for the SSF qualification is just too much to bear, I suppose.

Poor Intanon - she's now dealing with the "burden of expectation" as Gill Clark likes to say. I guess this means no SSF for her? Very disappointing. She'll bounce back eventually, I'm sure, but she'd better be careful for Porntip is now right there nipping at her heels.

And good for the Russians, but that was certainly an odd third game with alternating spells of brain farts from both sides. Time to stick a fork in Cai and Fu (especially Cai)...

yeah Intanon loosing ti Sung Ji Hyun is not good. SJH can play very solid but still she must be a must-win-with a margin for Intanon.
Also it could be that her game has been studied carefully by other countries. And all those crazy angled shots don't catch her opponents by surprise anymore. And if her level plank just drops a little combined with pressure making her make mistakes on the shots - that can really turn the tables around. And may well be one of the reasons players like Porntip who play a more agressive powerful attacking game experience more success now.

LXR lost the 1st game against GJ yesterday and won the match. Now she lost the 1st game against Busanan. Can she do it again?

And now it seems to be LXR's turn to disappoint - in G1, you could almost predict a number of her mistakes, either hitting long or into the net.

Somehow I strongly doubt it. If I was Busanan, I'd be quivering in anticipation right now...

That match is long over. Lee/Yoo won in three games.

Even when you fall far behind LXR, don't worry, just be patient as you can always count on her to give you a string of free points...

Agree. She must have made no less than 7-8 unforced errors per set. She had the rallies under control all the time. Absolutely unnecessarily for her to go for those tight shots. > than 60% of her cross-court drops or smashes will go either into the net or out. Very frustrating to see her play.

More than half of the time they were pacing up and down.

Feel sorry for Hu Yun. If he were 3-5 yrs younger, he might have won it and with a bit less effort. Anyway, to me, he is the best late bloomer in recent decades.

It's another QF appearance for Markus Fernaldi Gideon/Markis Kido. They are within reach of the top 10 very very soon. Out of 6 SS they participate in this year:
    WINNER - 1
QF - 2 (lost to Chai/Hong, and let's see if they can beat Adcock/Ellis tomorrow)
    R16 - 2 (lost to Liu/Qiu and Hendra/Ahsan)
    R32 - 1 (lost to Conrad-Petersen/Pieler Kolding)

If tomorrow LXR continues to be so error-prone, Porntip will beat her good and proper.

Best of luck to WSX, hope her stamina can hold against Soldier Schenk while at the same time being subject to her onslaught.

And both Bae YJ and Mtani M happen to be very good runners on court, let's see who can outrun and outlast the other, except that MM can attack better.

I really feel for Hu Yun for his loss. I watched the third game (rubber). It was like having a huge lead and letting it go in a fraction of second . Very very disappointing loss for him. Starting from IBL, i have been following his games. One of the BC member spoke about HuYun as 3rd MS for HK and 1st singles would be WWK etc something like that. But i must say WWK is nothing compared to HUYUN. Otherwise, he would not be in top 10 for long time.. I hope he will be the 8th person to be qualified for Superseries finals??? !!!
