So you're blaming LYD's errors on Ko, can the man do no wrong? In that last game LYD made plenty of errors, missed some easy shots as well as made some poor shot selections. You can't blame that on Ko, that's the responsibility of LYD, he has to manage his own game. Now it's clear that LYD is a better player than Ko, more aware and more creative. However, like any player his form varies from game to game and even during games. So what I object to is when LYD has a bad game is to then read people soley blaming Ko, LYD shouldn't get a free pass.
It is expected for CY/FHF as age is catching them. As for LYD, he has still many years to come and revived.
From psychological standpoint, LYD seems to be not a nice 'big bro' from KSH. Both could have communicated more otc and between points, with LYD giving KSH advise as the more experienced one. Instead, LYD displayed unpleasant face every time KSH made an error.
You are right, a little misunderstanding maybe. I don´t want to blame LYD (or say it is ko´s fault that lyd makes errors). Both didn´t played well. But I still wonder why LYD can´t shine as before. And one (only one) reason could be Ko´s nerves (not like Ko is making all mistakes or a lot, but in important situations for me it seems like his game goes sligthly. Just like the serve at 18-16 or sth and the block to net) On the other hand you could think that LYD should give Ko more confidence as one of the best net players. I don´t exactly know why they are not stable in such tense matches. Overall it is sad that they are out of the WC. I hoped for a thriller vs cai/fu or the indonesians. btw. the Thais are a tough opponent and played very, very good today. It´s not like Ko / Lee lost on their own, it always takes a opponent who takes the chance.
Yeah, two olympic gold medalists playing against each other should be a thrilling match. What's more, Ahsan/Hendra has been on their peak performance lately winning three SS titles in a row. Had no idea indeed
Yes this was particularly bad at the start of their partnership. I think someone must have had a chat with LYD because overnight it changed to being a lot more supportive, guess old habits die hard.
yeah he does that face with KO! but i was watching one of his old match btw cai/fu and lyd/jss and LYD did make the face once or twice with JSS aswell! a bit of character flaw from LYD. something he could work on atleast try not show the disaoppintment in your face, its not encouraging for your opponent. liliyana also doest that face when totoniya loses a point!
Exactly. Chung Jae Sung maybe? Prolly LYD used to be the li'l bro, and now he has to transform his role. That's how a young/old partnership could work afak (in the case of Liliyana & Tontowi for instance, Liliyana seems to give Tontowi a myriad of advice between points).
Hahaha it's embedded in his character maybe. Yeah, while liliyana sometimes does that face, at least she gave tontowi advice afterwards. I never saw the latter part done by LYD

The point about Liliyana and Tontowi is a good one, I see Ko in a similar light to Tontowi. When Tontowi paired up with Liliyana she was very unsuportive and mean to him when he made mistakes. Tontowi had loads of talent but was frankly missing a brain. He was always hitting everything hard and at times looked lost on court. He also suffered with nerves. However he's developed as a player and is far more complete, he judges his shots now. Ko needs to go through a similar process, unfortuntaley I'm not seeing the same pace of development that I saw with Tontowi. There's improvement but he still doesn't seem to quite get it yet. The coaches need to get him out the gym and into the classroom.

you know, if Hendra setiawan is in front of the net, either it will forcing the opponent to lift up the shuttle and killed by Ahsan Smash, or Hendra is make a mistake, with so many errors lucky this pair have great skills and so many variations in their play
