Interesting to watch LD play Wei Feng Chong. Both have "Wei" and "Chong" in their name. Their builds are about the same. Their playing style is about the same. Sounds like a good simulated match to LD before he plays LCW in the final (if he can get by CL). :)

    2 cents, thanks for that.

Can you add another column that show the total number of players from each country at the start of the tournament? That would help us calculate the number of 'survivors' from each country.

The real test for LCW is today's match versus. Wang Zhe Ming.

Matches I wish I can see live but can't:
. MD court #2: Angga/Ryan is facing Liu Xiaolong/Qiu Zihan
. MS court #3 : Tommy vs. Marc Zwibler (Tommy lost to Marc in semifinal Djarum Indo Open last June).
. WS court #4: Sindhu vs. Wang Yi Han

If anybody know any site which stream court #2, 3 or 4 please do share. I am watching on BWF Youtube channel using stealth from US and only court #1 is streaming.

Lee Chong Wei would again face a formidable opponent. Wang Zheng Ming nearly beaten LCW on the last encounter in indonesia pss. LCW even had to save several match points at that time.

Oh man, I really wanted to watch Marc Zwibler vs Tommy Sugiarto. Have a feeling it'd be a great match.

I think KOR will end up with 2W and 2L in WD. The pairs not playing CHN will pull through

I think some of you tend to overestimate WZM's capabilities. Fact is: he's a goner tomorrow.

It will definitely be tough for LCW today. WZM has crept closer and closer to him recently and with home court advantage, the crowd could finally push him into the win column. That said, LCW has had a knack of surviving close matches early in tournaments and because of that I give LCW the edge.

I predict a 50/50 between Wang Zhengming and Lee Chong Wei.
WZM almost beat LCW last time, and not even on home grounds.
WZM beat LD in simulation matches. His form might have improved.
China has since had more time to further more anti-LCW strategies. It worked for Tian Houwei, it might just work for WZM.

Plus, watching LCW vs. Rumbaka, not to take anything away from Rumbaka, but LCW struggled real hard. He's lost his edge. Seeing that Rumbaka's strategy worked so well against LCW, WZM and the Chinese coaches would advise on a similar strategy, except with even better execution.

Only way WZM will lose is if he gets his nerves get to him (their head to head is 8-0, and this is a world championship in his hometown pretty much... the pressure will either make or break him).

    -

As for the other two CHINA VS. MAS MS matches? Chong Wei Feng will fare decently, but ultimately come up short and ineffective. Chen Long is pretty much unstoppable right now, no way he can lose.

I predict all matches would be won by the home players.... except maybe LCW match... which will be a close one I think....

    i seriously beg to differ.

WZM vs LCW: is seems to be that WZM is getting closer, the thing is, it seems to be so for Chen Jin in the past, and it seems to be so for a lot of players, but in the end, its still LCW winning WZM every single time. some may claimed that LCW took 3 matches to down rumbaka, lets not forget the fact that WZM also took 3 matches against much lower ranked Ivanov and their match ended late, i am not sure if WZM can even be consider ready for a big match.

DL vs CL. this is an easy one, CL is much more power and consistent, far more that LD and LCW.

CWF vs LD. well you take the first case, change the side, you got this one. again, based previous opponents, LD preformance isnt that convincing, while CWF is on fire right now. the tide is still very much against CWF, especially if it is forced to the rubber. (It seems to be that malaysian players cant win against stronger player in a rubber)

LD is quite lucky though that his opponent last night isnt kenichi tago.
