Xie is a bit slow at retrieving drop shots. Reminds me of Jie Yao. Jie is tall but slow at the front of the court.

8-6 for Xie. Cheng started making several unforced errors.

Xie wins 11-6. Played fast and hard at the end.

But Cheng just showed us her potential. She will be a new threat on the WS scene.

Now, time for the most anticipated match of the day (well for the American fans at least)...

I dont kno who to cheer for....?? :)

Xie Xing Fang won. Cheng plays like a male with jump smashes and dives to retrieve smashes. More females should adopt that style.

Cheng's attacks are very frequent and she has a very fast wrist on her smashes... like as if she doesnt wind up all the way for them so many caught Xie off guard.

But her backhand and espcially deep back is slightly weak in terms of options.

Realistically tho, why didn't the oppositions just attack at Howard more. I've only seen him a few times in matches of US Open and US nationals but why not target the weakest link????

    Cant say it better!

Also, most of Xie points were from Chen unforced errors. This girl is really good^^

At first I didnt wanna watch because I tought Xie would destroy her but when I saw the afro I was like hehe. Then when she wasted Xie 11-2 I was like
