I think most likely Msia will face England in the Finals of MXD.

    Semifinal predictions:

    XD
    Robertson/Emms (Eng) v Saputra/Li (Sin) - no doubt
    Koo/Wong (Mas) v Shirley/Runesten (Nzl) - expect a fight

    MS
Lee CW (Mas) v Ghaffar (Eng) - no doubt
Wong CH (Mas) v Anand (Ind) - expect a fight

    WS
Hallam (Eng) v Cann (Jer) - not much doubt
Wong MC (Mas) v Hughes (Sco) - if her back is ok, not a problem

    MD
    Chan/Koo (Mas) v Brehaut/Denney (Aus) - no doubt
    Blair/Clark (Eng) v Choong/Wong (Mas) - almost 50-50 this one

    WD
    Chin/Wong (Mas) v Murgunde/Nehwal (Ind) - not much doubt
    Emms/Kellogg (Eng) v Jiang/Li (Sin) - expect a fight

Li YJ, Emms and Wong PT have 4 doubles matches to play today.
Wong CH has 2 singles and 2 doubles matches today!!!

Quite a few others have 2 or 3 matches today, and this is in the quarterfinal and semifinal stages, where the level is higher.

Saina Nehwal is still alive, but I think the bronze in the mixed team is all she will take home because the other three WD semifinalists are (supposedly) superior.

If my predictions come true then the finalists are either Malaysians or English. There is half a chance that the men's events will be all-Malaysian.

They should thank their lucky stars that they are playing under the new system.

Yesterday I suggested WMC was going to have it tough against Xing. How wrong I was, and I gladly eat my words. Someone pass the ketchup.

They were not going to win the gold anyway, so no big loss. For me, the big one is the gold. Silver and bronze are better than none, but way down from gold.

Shirley/Runesten Petersen are not World Championship semifinalists for nothing, you know. The only reason they are not that visible is because they compete in very few tournaments.

This is the 3rd game WCH plays within 10 hours ... he's probably exhausted.

Chetan Anand took a game off Wong Choon Hann, but the two games Wong won were comfortable. All-Malaysian final unless Ghaffar can somehow invoke some superhuman powers.
