I'm not sure about the credibility of this information but it seems like Goh Jin Wei is facing some health issues that would jeopardize her participation at Tokyo 2020. Again I'd wait for an official statement from the BAM to confirm the authenticity of his statement. More details there: https://www.nst.com.my/sports/badminton/2019/06/497709/another-wei-bam-sort-out
Oh dear, another athlete affected by health issue, apparently based on the report, not life-threatening but but will likely derail her Tokyo Olympic quest. But, strangely until now "we have consulted so many doctors but we just can’t seem to figure out what is wrong." Still, there is some consolation ? - '“If the situation doesn’t get better, we rather rest her and hopefully have her at her best for the 2024 Olympics (Paris).Jin Wei is well aware of this,” added Choong Hann.'
what happened to MAS athlete?? Maybe because of this issue affected a lot on her performance this year..
It's been ongoing for a little while and she did miss a few tournaments because of her health issue if the source I mentioned is true.
It's been ongoing for a little while and she did miss a few tournaments because of her health issue if the source I mentioned is true so it must have clearly affected her performances.
She was standing next to LCW at the Olympic Carnival in Penang though (LCW Instagram stories) so hopefully she is going to be better soon and able to show at Tokyo 2020 in full power mode!
At the moment Sonia Cheah is going strong and if this continues she will be the Malaysia No. 1 women singles and does not bode well for Malaysia already lacking in talents that can face up at the world stage. It may be the doctors in Malaysia aren't able to offer anything more and should follow LCW in seeking treatment elsewhere asap.
A clearer situation ?Crohn's https://www.thestar.com.my/sport/ba...wei-to-be-out-for-four-months-after-colectomy
i am so glad i got it right.. go go go Kisona!!! i hope she gets to earn a thread of her own here soon.... (btw all our female athletes had really huge injuries.. worrisome; sonia, gjw, gly all had major surgery or serious issues.. kisona herself... maybe somebody should check?)
Kisona is exemplary in her never say die attitude. Hope the rest can be motivated. Any news of Jin Wei lately? She cud hv slipped too far behind if this issue goes on.
Any news on GJW's injury lately? The lockdown could do allot of good to some dark horses. If it still hasn't been addressed then it could well be a personal or mental issue.
Watched her play the finals in the Spanish international versus Kisona. Pretty much a shadow of what she used to be. There were flashes of her former brilliance, but for a few issues...most prominent was her speed.. cumbersome and easily defeated. But more disturbing is there was none of the same fire she once had. I hope she will overcome. Thank God she's still young (1 year younger than Kisona)... Am still a fan.
Totally agree with you there. Sluggish movements around the court and easy mistakes. Kisona's attack is much better than what is was in the Sea Games finals. I'm sure Jin Wei will get her old form back. It's a matter of time.
