Rofl. Provided you can even find it commonly at your local shops. Why not? I find that the on spec one that I cherry picked plays much like my 4U VT80 which is perfectly usable for doubles. Of course if you're unfortunate enough to be struck by the poor QC one like I was with my first piece, then well....you would hate it even more. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
heh so your first piece is on carousell now? what was the BP difference between the first and the second? if you got a chance to measure them that is
Already sold last week heh. Either way BP figures would have been insignificant and misleading between both. They have near identical head weight measurements. What truly differed was simply the distribution of weight in the head, and that made the significant difference of playable and unplayable to me. My first piece felt like I had finishing weights moulded into the top of the frame, the current piece balances a lot more like the 88D but there's a significant tactile difference in the head heaviness. My liking of either one is highly subjective in this instance. I've developed a great appreciation for the 88D but now with the much more playable 99 at my disposable, I'm quite smitten with it too. However at the end of the day neither are my first picks for rackets anyway. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
I had a hit today. I'll clarify some of the weird feelings I got with power shots. I played with feather today and that seemed to be the fix. 3U - Bg80 25/27 - 43g headweight The feel is very crisp and solid. It is not like the ZF2 where it is a lower deeper more resonating thump. The 99 is more centralized at the contact, feels hard and solid just where you hit it - very accurate in feel, not in the full sweetspot like ZF2. Feels more accurate - although I am not totally sure if that is because the strings are fresher or because the frame is very different. I was able to get ample power with the frame - I had to relax my arm and that really allowed me to get zip to my shots - defence was very quick as well. Smashes felt good and had very good accuracy - consistently hitting the zipper without going all out. Power is not lacking. I wish the weight was a bit more concentrated in the head of the frame. Drop shots were much crisper and angles became so much easier with feather. Drives were better - and full slap clears and drives when late at deep FH corner were great - still had pace. I'm gonna add some weight to this to see how it plays - when I added 2 g of headweight to my ZF, I had to swing MUCH earlier to hit the sweetspot. Flexed in a weird way - can't really explain it. But I don't want the paint peeling off like it did with my ZF2. - that is one negative with power balance strips
