I somewhat disappointed by how Jonathan Christie losing his focus after leading. He needs to work on that. Not every opponent will play only with their rackets.
what a mastery display of .... EVERYTHING! skills, tactics, and entertainment, that floor mop was hilarious.
U see guys even being an Indian..whenever Lin Dan is on and even if its an Indian player hes playing I automatically turn Chinese lolz. i dunno i jst love his play and im a proud of fan of lin dan he was and is and will always be a legend. Haters can hate etc..But I as a true badminton lover will never forget Lin Dan and If gotten a chance would love to hug him at least once in my life and take a pic with him. Damn Im in tears. Love u King of Smashes ..U truly are just one of a kind...U are the king of Badminton. China is lucky to have a Gem like Dan. Christie U got DANNED ...!! YAAAAY
It must yellow card for LD for take off the clothes Shame for JC affected with cheap trick, not strong mental tough
Nonetheless, congrats for Lin Dan to winning the title. Quite a good crowd in NZ. . . As for Jonathan Christie, hopefully a better result next time; losing after playing like that is normal. Quite many rooms for improvement, I like to see his progress soon! (footwork and cutting UEs)
he totally played the umpire too. and if he is given a yellow card, which he should, he would probably waste another 5mins throwing a tantrum.
Ahh...Lin Dan scraped through in the end, partly thanks to the umpire who refused his request to have the floor mopped and that riled him, not only cleaning the floor himself but also venting his frustration by redirecting his energy to the final few points which, happily, he won. Indeed, a good way of letting off some steam. Frankly, had Lin Dan lost G2, I doubt he can survive G3. He's definitely the better player, as always, but age has really caught up with him as he's often physically stretched in the penultimate and final rounds. Nevertheless, a fine victory for Lin Dan, hopefully the first of many more to come. Notably, the age gap of 14 years between them is significant, 34 vs 20.
Why did lin dan do all of those delays for? Was it to catch some breath or to mess with your opponent too? Because honestly I cant understand why delays can disrupt your opponent.
Apparently, the implementation of the new 1.15m service rule has teething problems, both for the service judge and most of the players, if not all. I mean for the older players, it's like learning how to serve again, not easy at all breaking a virtual lifelong habit, esp for the singles players who are very rarely faulted.
After Leading 19-14.... Morten Frost : ''You should never underestimate Lin Dan. Jonatan Christie was leading 19-14 and then Lin Dan came like a fire and burnt everything in his way.'' Jonatan Christie at the handshake was epic : ''DUDE THE HELL WAS THAT.''
