Two court livestream from the qualifying rounds, examplary! Vitidsarn-Naraoka is on later in the day.
Threads on the same subject were merged and the official name of the tournament is by far the preferred name.
Vicky Angga Saputra, Kodai Naraoka, Sun Feixiang and Heo Kwang Hee through to main draw also Shaunna Li (NZL), Yukino Nakai (JPN), Ji Shuting (CHN), Crystal Pan (USA) are already qualified in women's singles.
Whatever, it's good and makes sense to merge the two threads. Keep up the good work both of you, we greatly appreciate it, I'm sure you two can work hand in hand. I mean both of you are so good, one plus one equals to more than two !
The CHN MS second stringers and juniors are so disappointing, Ren Pengbo, Lu Guangzu and Zhou Zeqi are all knocked out in the qualies, only Sun Feixiang left standing after eliminating Riichi Takeshita, apart from Zhao Junpeng in the main draw, not to mention Lin Dan, of course. CHN MS is in need of new blood soon, the still relatively young Shi Yuqi alone is barely sufficient to stave off the rising challenge and formidable threat from the rest of the world. As for CHN WS, as we know, it's in an even worse situation but, at least, there's hope in their juniors, looking bright. Frankly, for this TUC, I don't really see CHN as the favourite in either the men's or women's events.
Bold statement but I agree. I would not count china out just yet since with team event like this mentality is an important aspect. LD may not have the best skill but his game mental is top notch. Chen Long and Shiyu Qi may just step their foot on the pedals for the game (although I am afraid of another break down of Shiyu Qi). This thomas cup will be very interesting though. I am looking forward to it
Fox often posts pictures here with colourful font too which is interesting and give us different aspect You pointed out China back-ups exactly, their standard is still far from expected, lack of training and competing experience? Women's singles, China is investing their talent now and will reap the harvest in future years.
The problem is unlike in WS, in MS China can't just pick players with superior physique, as there is a limit to how big you can get on a badminton court while still be effective. When you look at the female juniors - doubles and singles - the main criterea for development seem to be physical attributes. China should focus more on players with natural talent for technique and creativity instead of churning out one CYF clone after the other, as they are doing right now. This might lead to worse results in the youth segment, but would produce players that are capable of finding solutions against the very top players later on. Plus, this approach would work for both MS and WS.
NEXT POKEMON BATTLE @Nine Tailed Fox chooses LIN DAN....... and @Baddyforall chooses LAKHSYA SEN.....Battle ON!
see Chan Peng Soon pair up with Chen Tang Jie to play MD, hope they can be like Zhang Nan/Liu Cheng as once play XD...
Abhinav Manota (newzealand) defeated Sourabh Verma in 3 games. Sourabh verma better retire from international competition. Lol
