it appears that i was wrong about the province thing; they're playing for clubs, or so it seems. LD plays for 81 Chivas (you read eight-one as ba yi in Mandarin). Fu Haifeng plays for Qingdao Beer, quite popular in China. i think his partner is Shen Ye. not really sure though.

sorry for the inaccurate information in my other post :p

He played for Guangzhou, but only during the qualifying rounds last year. He is now just a practice partner for his wife.

AP May 22, 2010 China Badminton Club Super League will start WAR

    .
Hi RedShuttle, Thank you for the info.

    Google translation can be quite humorous. Reading the first sentence;

"AP May 22, 2010 China Badminton Club Super League will start war".

brings a smile for me. :):):)

2010 Chinese Badminton Super League is organised for club players based inside China

    .
I don't get it. Are you saying they need more players from countries outside China?:confused::confused:

This 2010 Chinese Badminton Super League is organised for club players based inside China. It is organised for players involved in clubs located inside China, not outside China.

Indeed but they could try and make it a bit more commercial like the IPL in cricket.
I dont see how they get much joy from the China Super league hmmm, just my own opinion.

I chatted with one of CBA official that they may change the rule that a foreign player has to be from top 8 to top 16 or 20 in future..
Also LCW was set to play in the league but since has a contract with YONEX, he has to wear YONEX. ( thats what official told me when I asked LCW, not BAM did not allow him)

Basically China Badminton league is to give non china national team a chance to play and earn a living.
Also to hire international player is applying working visa for them..can be a hussle..

lol this league almost promotes more battles for national team spots than national team training itself...and i assume that's better for the men than actually going to super series, given the Thomas Cup results...;)

As far as I know, China National Games is quadrennial event, like PON in Indonesia and more prestigious than Chinese Badminton Super League.

Thanks, but I was actaully looking for a standings table (this is a table of match results). I Guess I could create my own standings table based on the individual results, but I would assume they have a standings table somewhere?!?! Also Do you get 1 point for a team win, or do yo get points for each individual match in the team match??
