Yeah mine broke the same way a couple weeks ago and I bought it at Tad's in Vancouver, Canadian coded, just earlier this year so I'm pretty sure it's real. Sucks that it broke that way, perhaps it could be a design flaw.
to further add to this racquet's fragility, my NS7700 broke via my partner's stupid clash. broke in the 2/10 o'clock area. RIP.
Been using for the past 11 months. Comparing to the rest of my collection and in terms of "usability" [YY:KingDia B-2000(1976)deceased 1980; YY Hy Alumina B-8000 (1980)deceased 1993; Carbonex 8DX SP (1993); YY Carbonex 8600 (2000)], this is a gem of a racquet. Strung at 10 kgs (YY BG 80), the power generated plus the feel (net play) is just right. I only blame myself if the point is lost. Just a piece of advice, avoid scooping the shuttles from the floor, the strings just do not last due to the abrasion (not to mention the superb paintwork).
I've been using mine since it was released and still using it now. Been through quite a few clashes, frameshots, and other forms of abuse, but it's still perfectly fine. Doesn't seem fragile to me.
Just as slvrdrgn123 iv'e been jusing it since it was in the stores.. i've never tried a racket which is so strong at well build. I bought 4 when it came out, and even tough i am playing with a 36lbs tension NO ONE is broken yet excellent racket .. i almost squeeze a tear tomorrow when i'm switching to the arc10! I can also add that this racket is probrobly the best racket to make defending hits with ever! i been trying almost any YY racket (of the expensives of course) and i can't compare it with ANY of them! (in the good way )
That's about 16.4 kgs ! How is your arm ? Do you have strong triceps (since you really have to hit hard when you smash)?
Youngman Yes i know it's a very hard tension.. nevertheless it works for me so.. what ever. My arm i geuss isn't stronger than evry one else.. but it's also a matter of hitting the shuttle right and with that tension - perfect! My smash comes with normal speed i geuss but with a lower tension i shot the shuttle way to long on clears.. so you got a lot better feeling with the ball with a high tension.
Hello Peter, Do you use feather shuttles (which ones, what's the cost) only? Have you tried the Mavis 370? If you have , how does it compare to the feather ones? Thanks
Well.. i use what ever my club have One one of my trainings we're using the Yonex somthing 40 On another one we're using the yonex something 30 (haha) and on another we're using the aerosilver 35 shuttles. I don't know the exact price but you can look it up on yonex.dk's website and the areosilver 35 i geuss is around 200 dkr (40 USD) all of them is feathers and i couldn't dream of playing with something else like plastik shuttles.
Oh, Aerosensa you mean ? Peter, you might want to try a lower tension on your ARC10 because of the stiffer shaft and also there is less vibration dampening compared to the NS7700. Well any way.. if you can handle 36lbs, you can handle any other tension..
jhirata - yes i have done some thinkin how ever i should choose a lower tension.. so i'll going to string it up with 30-32 to a biginning.. but thanks anyway And yes! aerosense was the name!
Nanospeed 7000 or 7700? hi, can anyone tell me the differences between the nanospeed 7000 and 7700? in terms of power, control, speed and defense etc etc. i was planning on getting the 7000 until this thread on the 7700 had me giving second thoughts about my racquet choice.
Reviewer: Heng from Sunnyvale, CA United States This racquet is the combination of Armortec 700 & NanoSpeed 7000, the design of the frame is the combination of the two as well; overall light weight with the slight heavy head, no wonder they call it "7700".
hi, I know that this is like 4+ years on, but im still using this racquet and its great I have stated playing again after a long long break, what racquet would be similar to the NanoSpeed 7700 from the new NanoRay series? This is the 2007 Yonex matrix.. and this is the 2014 one.. Based on the chart, i am actually very confused :? It looks like its sitting within the Arcsaber series?? Maybe last time they use diff. method to rank the racquets. Any help? also is BG66, 24lbs. okay for a repulsion racquet or should i go for NBG99 (to counter the repulsionness of the racquet and give it more control/soft feeling), 24lbs.?
I went from the NS7700 to the NR750 and now the NR900. In feel the NR750 is very similar to the NS7700. The NR900 swings faster and is stiffer than both but balance and swing weight feel about the same. As for string, I use BG66 Ultimax.
