A follow up. The prior post is for NS7.7k (top) and NS8k (lower)

Here are picture for NS7.7k (top) and NS9k-s (lower)

NS8k head is lighter than NS7.7K while NS9k-s is about the same as NS7.7k. You really can no tell the difference.

Hey, great job! It's nice to see some real data rather than a bunch of ppl yelling assertions and opinions at each other! :p I currently use a MP99 and am considering some of these NS models for my next racquet and having some clear instead of contradictory info really helps! The comments about the original grip and strings don't really matter since it appears to be apples to apples for the different racquets you balanced, anyway.

I wish that badminton racquet makers would give the balance point information like tennis racquet makers commonly do (e.g. balance point = 320 mm or balance = 6 pts head light, etc.).

BTW, a quick and dirty way to figure out the balance of a racquet is to balance it on your finger. Look at the shaft and see where the center of your finger lines up with, note the markings/paint, etc. at that point, then measure starting from the butt to that point, then do it with the next racquet.

agree with Leadfoot... except I have problems doing the finger balancing, my fingers are chubbier :D:D:D

Though, I think the only manufacturer that does not give balance point info in their marketing has been YY so far...

Carlton, Wilson, Victor, Prince, Head seem to give balance point info, if not in their marketing info, they do have this painted onto the racquets.

Edit: By the way, nice work Master Steven :D thanks for doing the experiment.

i just went to check the NS 7700 price yesterday, just wondering is RM 550 for that racquet is resonable? it seem NS7700 quite easy to break...

reasonable but maybe slightly less if i remember correctly.

quite easy to break? it's gotta be relative to your playing style as mine is still fine :)

    Ah ha!
    found the culprit.

If you wouldn't make such nice photos of racquets, I would not be drawn into buying this one lol :D:p

I'm purposely avoiding the photo threads in the photo sections, because I will try to buy whatever Red is taking photos of too :p:eek::D

    OK!!!
I'm really serious about what i have to say!!

AINT WE ABLE TO SUE YONEX?
There was news on yahoo once saying that 2 girls were able to sue Ribena for false advertisement about the dose of vitamin C in it.

It should be the same with those racquets of yonex. Some say head light but arent head light, that crappy NS7700 is supposed to be medium flex as advertised but jeez when i tried it out last time.. compared to my MP88, that's not medium flex at all. I'm really serious about it! I feel like sueing yonex for false advertisement.. just like those 2 teenage girls who sued ribena!! >.<
