I think he did nothing wrong, just that he was kicked to pave way for the promising juniors in China MS like Shi yuqi and so
Well to be honest, he had his chances and he has never really been able to capitalise on them. He will be remembered as the player with potential but never quite made it. IMO, he lacked aggression and speed mostly. He has a good technique and is reasonably consistent but needed an extra gear (or two) against faster players but was never really able to keep up. So not really surprised that he has been dropped from the team, I'm sure China has plenty of potential MS players eager to take his spot.
Basically this. Wang Zhengming was told that he has no future in the national team. The coaches have no ambition for him. In the later years,he failed miserably in his 'support wing' role and did nothing to help Lin Dan or Chen Long.
No surprise given his lack of stamina and speed. He must have one of the worst h2h records against lcw in history... like 0-18 or something. Nearly 3 weeks of nonstop losses built up.
Not only Lee Chong Wei But him falling on his knees against Son Wan Ho, Chou Tien Chen and O Jorgensen was real pain in the a$$ for the coaching team. Just a Bad Player overall.
Yeah the amount of first round exits this year alone was embarrassing, along with the complete failure at the pre thomas cup. He never had the work ethic compared to others even the likes of DPY who had more to show than WZM.
WZM is history. Let's move on. Why are Zhao Junpeng and Zhu Siyuan not in Germany? CBA is not short of money.
is cruel to say he failed, i think he has reach his max potential and there are many chinese youngster who is good coming up, if he would be in another country, he would have still be in the national team but china has so much talent, they just dont have spot left for him
Just learnt Wang Zhengming had retired. That's a shame. He's still young. Hope he'll continue to play elsewhere... He's one of the very few top players nowadays with an elegant style of play whom I find a great joy to watch. Saw him a few years ago in the World Championships in Copenhagen: lovely skills and a powerful smash. He happened to sit down right next to me in the spectator area while he was briefly chatting with a Canadian player. I should have asked them for an autograph
This mentally very weak and lazy player had a few tournaments of brilliance e.g when he China Open one year beating Kento Momota/JOJ/SWH in succession. His game vs Kento was one of the best annihilations in the 3rd set like 21-6 or something... Will need to find video later
I loved Wang Zhengming's jump smashes. Too bad, he couldn't keep up with China's boring coaching routine and Ultra High Physical Level Requirement. All the players active in China Badmin have insane physiques with robotic court coverage. Zhengming played loosely and freely.
Congratulations to Wang ZhengMing ! What a talent, what could have been...... From his Microblog: https://weibo.com/wangzhengming?refer_flag=1005055013_
