I have a picture of a destabilised shuttle after a backhand serve. Admittedly, it is not Lee Yong Dae serving but I think it will do. It turns on its axis - would be difficult to see how a rule on the predictability of flight can be consistently applied.
While LYD serves high at times, that is a poor example because you marked the wrong height. The point of contact is what matters, not where he holds the shuttle. You stole about 5cm from him
^ You do realize that most players raise the shuttle hand a few cm on striking the shuttle at serve... so craigandy really *subtracted* a few cm instead.
I actually remembered the rule wrong. At the point of contact, the whole shuttle has to be below the waist, so he was correct. Feel stupid too, since I used to practice my serve by marking my waits with my racket, then putting the shuttle below it....
I admire the Danish's fiery style of play, it brings "character" to the game.. but what BoMo did recently was just uncalled for.. I remember from a previous tournament, the point after the interval, Boe was arguing with the official and addressed him on first name basis (The umpire's name was Klause something <- sorry really can't remember). GC was quick to note that even if they knew each other at a personal level, there should still be a certain level of professionalism in the arena and address the official in such manner.. I do hope the BWF take some kind of action on this, for the good of the future generations..
Good find, SSM Notice how Fu Haifeng is slicing the shuttle? What Lee Yong-Dae is doing is adding more slice. In fact, much more slice.
Their coach also joint in the "discussion" during the 11 point interval. To me, if nothing is done than and there during the game, nothing is going to be done later. This is not their first outburst. I would be very surprise if BWF write to the Danish Badminton Association and they in turn impose disciplinary action.
I would offer to play without shirt, but I'm guessing someone might not be okay with that Also, it's too cold. But I'm sure that at least 90% of the time my serve is perfectly legal - at the limit, but legal.
If that is a reason for not disciplining then our sport's governing body is more corruptible than a tin-pot dictatorship and needs a new constitution.
Let us be heard!! We reserves our rights as badminton fans from all around the world! I just created an online petition containing our concern for their misconduct and misbehavior. Link = http://www.gopetition.com/petitions...-officials-stand-up-against-boe-mogensen.html
