This is nonsense/rubbish/wishful hearsay statement! Players come here to play basically to earn a living. Respectful of home country's beloved player is by being true to yourself and show up to beat your opponent fair and square. Chicken!!.
You are right that no player can win every times when playing a quarter final match of super series including LD and LCW (I guess). I have not watched the match between CL and KT yet but one thing I do know is that internal or external (or both) politics are always involved in any sports that Chinese players take part in. I believe those fans who are familiar with Chinese sport will be able to tell.
I think it is more like LYD had an off day. Agga/Saputra is younger, fitter than Ahsan/Hendra pair. I see Ahsan/Hendra should learn a thing or two from Angga/Saputra about court coverage, not too loose defense and court ready to play in top shaped- stamina. Hendra had an off day yesterday and Ahsan just became a dad so he was out of shape.
Angga was talking to Saputra: Huh... Goh V Shem/Lim Khim Wah? Ok, bring it on! We want and will win a 1st SS finally.
LOL high and mighty! Houston we have a problem. there is only 1 CHN WD left... Other than WXL/YY only 1 Bao/Tang who is exceptional in such short meteoric rise! WXL/YY chose to bail out and not even bother to come to Malaysia. Anyway, BYX is such a genius in WD not so much in XD. MaJin is the opposite. She is XD specialist but not so much in WD.
I agree that every players should put in 100% effort when they are playing no mater where and when (in a ideal world). However, sometimes things do not turn out that way like black and white. There will be some grey areas appear from time to time. It could be a few factors or theories why CL pulled out and I guess we may never know all the true reasons for it but at least we (badminton fans) can discuss it in peace?
Fair comment if that's what you think. But, isn't it strange that whenever a non-CHN player beats WYH, the ROW fans will be jumping for joy, not caring a damn whether WYH is off-form, injured or whatever that's bothering her, a win is a win? Yet, when a fellow CHN junior or lesser player beats WYH, something must be fishy, not acceptable for WYH to have a bad day, be off-form or whatever !? Remember, when LXR was rising and beating her senior elites one after another, some people were saying it was all LYB's doing and whatnot - now, looking back, it's groundless, far-fetched and stupid. This is just one example but you get what I'm driving at, those conspiracy theories and suchlike. Coming back to WYH here at the MAS Open SSP. What's her chances winning the SSP title? Well, about as high as LXR's , probably a littler better than WSX's, certainly much better than Yao Xue's on paper, also clearly higher than the possible non-CHN semifinalists such as Akane Y, Bae YJ and Jindapon. So, why wouldn't WYH go for it, including earning the relatively good prize money and considerable ranking points? To me, she happened to be not at her best and lost to an underdog with nothing to lose and perhaps played above herself as you suggested but certainly not intentional on her(WYH's) part, that's all; I can think of no other reasons or hidden agenda. JOJ always gives of his best but, still, that doesn't mean he didn't have his fair share of mediocre results, eg 1st Round loss to Darren Liew at CHN Open SSP about two months ago, R2 loss to Prannoy at JPN Open last Sep, R1 loss to Sakai at INA SSP last June, etc... As for Chen Long's lackluster performance this week, after reading from the Malaysian press that he was down with fever (same for Tai TY, we were told) coming to the MAS Open SSP which affected his form but he still entertained us for three rounds instead of withdrawing at R1 - I am prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt and not read too much into it; simple as that. Again , just an exchange of views. Enough said . Thanks.
Kido was overheard saying this to his kid sister, Pia: "Pia, who is we are playing against?... oh Owi and Butet. I am tired. Feeling lousy after a lose to the Chinese. I see you too lost earlier to them. Let's bail out!!! Let Owi and Butet play tomorrow.
I do not know how MJ handles both WD and XD in the same tournament one after another (Korea open). Kido gave a walkover too after a 3 set match with CB/HW.
You are right and where is the Lou twin sister pair? They were in the Korea open final a few days ago.
Have the courtesy to read the posts in chronological order before you jump in or end up barking up the wrong tree. That post I wrote was in response to latecomer's view which I regarded as fair comment. Later when Cheung posted the MAS news article which revealed Chen Long's running a fever which affected his form, I realized my conjecture was unfounded and wrote a follow-up post to apologize to Chen Long for having misunderstood him. As such, it has superseded the post you targeted wrongly. It's obvious you either miss it or choose to ignore it deliberately. When somebody revealed earlier that Tai TY had fever coming to this tournament which resulted in her retiring in G2 with Bella, how come nobody murmured ? I chose to believe TTY with some reservations.
because TTY was already on fever during monday. her situation worsen on thursady. anyone on bc know chen long on fever?since when?
The Luo twin sisters are still ranked too low to qualify for SS tourneys yet. Anyway, it's good that CHN sometimes not send their top pair, WXL/YY, to certain SS events.
Now then you tell us Tai TY's fever started on Monday and worsened on Thursday. How would we know if nobody tells us? I believe Tai TY must be affected by something or she wouldn't suddenly retire during a match and against an opponent I expected her to beat. I actually asked in a post here for more info but none was forthcoming, until now. As for Chen Long, it was pretty obvious he wasn't quite himself the last few days from R1. But,of course, some biased, even extremist, anti-CHN fans would have none of it, fever or no fever. Whatever, to each his own. I choose to believe Chen Long , just as I believe Tai TY, and that's my reasonable right, not blind faith which is not my philosophy.
Damn Lee Yong Dae wan´t himself today. Bad start for him. Ofc the Indonesians played very well, but Lee/Yoo were not inform today, still they had a chance, what is a good sign.
Also, LYD played 2nd-to-last match on Court1 in the 2nd round, so he also ended really late yesterday.
This Badzine article after the R16 (http://www.badzine.net/news/malaysia-open-r16-–-defending-champions-out/28637/) did say
