I notice today that there have been two walkovers involving chinese v chinese opponents. I don't know if this is because of injury or team tactics but I suspect the latter. It's very frustrating for the paying public, badminton fans and all that this happens. I will be doing an 8 hour round trip to watch the games in Birmingham tomorrow and will be somewhat short changed if these tactics occur again and also bring in to question the viability of such tournaments.
there is no re-draw before on other tournaments including China SS also..thats disgusting!!! We have witnessed so many draws too...thats an stupid excuses!! why didnt ask Jiang or Lu Lan WO as well??
If there is 4 top seeded players did not show up then I will support Re-draw like they did before....anyway...China is doing that all the time..nothing is new...
because JYJ and LL still have to fight for the OG 2010 whereas LX and LXR(they are much younger)are most likely to prepare for the OG 2016.
There is no need to have WOs..just play eventually LX and LXR will be asked to lose anyway...it just makes China look bad...this is not necessary!!
It was like that in the pass and it will happen again. LD gave WO to teammates during his QF matches in both HK and CH open. I don't think spectators' interest is ever in the Chinese Badminton Association's agenda. This is one of the many reasons why the public has stop showing interest in Chinese vs Chinese matches. The most you can get out of a match of this sort is an exhibition match, not a duel to show who is/are the best on court. China is known to do stuff whichever way they want. Remember the Confucius prize? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...-prize-Never-heard-of-it-says-the-winner.html Personally, if I were BWF, I will just disqualify both players who did not turn up for the match(especially when they are from the same association) regardless of what their coaches said. Simple as that.
Since BWF forces Chinese player backfire each other first, then China uses walkover to protect themselves. China has its own super / primier league for Chinese players internal matches. In order to protect that market, in order to only show the China-China match inside China, the team China has to walkover to avoid being sued by its domestic primier league sponsors. If any audiences and spectators want to watch China-China match, then they have to go to China league for that. That's their niche market, and they want to protect that to prevent that being stolen by BWF. Therefore, when BWF forces them to play China-China in early rounds, they have no choice other than walkover to protect their niche market. That's purely my understanding, if you complain your wasted time and money, that's reasonable, you should ask BWF not manipulate the draw and not invade other's market share. You as yourself, please keep in mind, never ever expect to watch China vs China matches outside China league. The W in BWF stands for "World", the whole mind of BWF is to discriminate players from different countries. The most you can expect from BWF is the match between different countries.
There is no manipulation.....READ IT!!! so many Koreans against Koreans in early round, as well as Other countries... PROVE IT if BWF manipulates the DRAW!!!!!..just dont talk BS here!!!
If you have been reading the other thread started by him. Then you should have realized that you shouldn't take him too seriously. Just a thought.
then it's groundless to accuse China side for manipulation either. Walkover is just a walkover, don't draw any dirty BS conclusions from your filthy BS mind!
Honestly, no matter how many gold medals they win in the major tournaments, I do look down on the 'dirty' Chinese badminton team.
This is truly disgusting. If anyone is interested in lodging a complaint, here are the email addresses taken from the official websites: Chinese Badminton Association: yuqiu1@sports.cn National Sports Bureau: bgt@sport.gov.cn
Thanks. I would rather watch the fair badminton games without Chinese players at all with a little bit compromise to the level of the competition.
1. Don't blame the players. It's the team coach/manager who gives orders. 2. You cannot prove there's no injury no matter how co-incidental, so no point making official complaints. 3. If they are forced to play if there really is an injury, then it's a much worse injustice than the intentional walkovers. 4. If they are forced to play if the injury is faked, it'll be a half-assed match anyway, may as well not waste everyone's time. 5. Some other teams have done it now and then. 6. So, just take it and hope the day will come soon when badminton becomes more individual-oriented rather than association-based. 7. CHN v CHN matches are normally very good. You can see these great matches once there are no non-CHN players left in the draw.
Sorry to say China didn't do its best to earn respect, even China is the badminton mighty power house. The walkovers simply ask BMF to adopt the same Olympics participating rule in the future to limit maximum participating players per country ... sigh!
