If not talking on-topic, then start your own topic . Disagree. Let's digress a bit more; If a BCer who wants to talk about a Malaysian player (by starting a particular Malaysian player's thread), but later finds that BCers are starting to talk more about other players (in his/her thread), surely we can suggest to them that they are in the wrong thread. If not talking on-topic, then start your own topic. Why change the the specific topic? This is just my opinion. .
Recently some BCers want to comment on what Singapore cannot do . Currently, our regular BCer, Loh, is disappointed with some responses in his thread: Singapore Also Can Recently some BCers want to comment on what Singapore cannot do. IMHO, why disturb Loh's thread. Why not start your on thread to talk about what Singapore cannot do? .
Is grunting, yelling and screaming during play considered not good for Badminton?. . And I have created a new thread for this topic: Is grunting, yelling and screaming during play considered not good for Badminton? http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79553 .
It's a matter of how you organise information, and inevitably this requires judgement. A little common sense goes a long way. At one extreme, we allow any discussion in any thread. Taken to its logical conclusion, we might as well have one giant mega-thread containing 1.3 million posts. At the other extreme, we take a "topic-Nazi" approach. Taken to its logical conclusion, we should only allow "singleton" threads of one post. Then no one can ever go off-topic. Clearly, both of these are stupid ways to organise information. Instead, we take a pragmatic approach which disallows blatant topic-hijacking, while remaining tolerant of topics expanding during the course of a discussion. That's how conversation works.
It's nothing personal. Hope to read your comments in this thread . It's nothing personal. Hope to read your comments in this thread; http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79553 .
sometimes, life does get bored. currently dont have any good tournaments to discuss. nothing new in techniques. manufacturers havent come out new tech for racket. so, dive in and spar with Uncle Loh. training.....
there goes another thread http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79345&page=6 not surprising at all actually
Why? Should be mad at them for getting the thread closed. Anyway better stay on topic otherwise the thread Nazi will come get me
Sometimes, life does get bored . Like what drifit said; The chit-chat sub-forum should be most active at this moment. .
I like this one I will echo the suggestion of "Don't feed the Trolls"! As long as we don't reply to their thread/post, they will be quiet. The more we reply and argue, the happier they will be and the consequence is more likely to be "THREAD LOCKED".
Haha, did some of the posts got deleted? Other than the "great wall" thing, nothing very surprising, considering all that we've read all this while.
Your suggestion is the best but unfortunately not everyone can be so discipline as some of you. In this case, I wish there is a filtering system so that everyone can choose not to see any threads/posts created by the so called Trolls. That way, you don't get to see what you don't like hence not replying.
A good suggestion if it can be done . A good suggestion if it can be done. I can remember one of your posts saying something like: It's silly to argue here, it's better to go out to have some games of Badminton than to sit here at BC arguing. .
Read the lpost here: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1338539&postcount=2493 That's a classical way to hijack a thread. And what amazed me is the other BCers are actually giving positive responses to these kind of post. I am speechless to be honest. IMHO, such redundant posts should be deleted and keep strictly to pm.
If i'm not mistaken.. ..there's already a filtering or block out system designed to filter people as described. Personally, i haven't used it, so i don't know how it really works (whether it'll block out posts/threads made by the Ignored member(s)). http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/usercp.php (see Control Panel->Miscellaneous->Buddy/Ignore List)
The one giving us the option to unsubscribe a thread . That's the one giving us the option to unsubscribe from a thread, which was requested by DinkAlot back in 2006, isn't it? .
